  2. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):3/31 Time on Water:2:00-6:30 Weather/Temp:40's and overcast Wind Speed/Direction:5-7 from North West Waves: 1 ft or less Surface Temp:42-44.5 Location:Mexico Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 20 Total Boated:17 Species Breakdown:16 Browns and 1 Atlantic Salmon Hot Lure: Orange Jointed Rapalas and Green Michigan Stingers Trolling Speed: 2.0-2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 8-14 Lure Depth: 7 ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Lets start by saying there is nothing better than spending the afternoon fishing with your 8 year old and your Dad. My oldest son had been begging for a trip to Lake O for a while now and I felt like today would be the best time for him to come experience the Lake and boy was I right. Not only did he catch his first Brown but he ended up catching 7 and loosing 2 more. My Father who was on only his 4th trip to the lake ended up grabbing 6 fish too and I managed a couple myself including my first Lake O Atlantic which was about 21 inches. Unfortunately it came during one of several doubles and I quickly released it before getting a pic because my son was battling a nice Brown at the same time and I didnt want to kill the Atlantic so I let him go quickly. On top of several doubles we managed 3 successful triples which was total chaos to be honest with 2 lake rookies on board. Anyways it was my personal best day on the lake and I was so happy to share it with two very important people. Oh yea, and even thought I only landed 3 fish myself I did manage the largest at 10lbs 4 oz. All in all, a great day for the memory bank....
  3. We just got home and hit 17 out of 20 with 1 atlantic and the rest browns. Laid down nice around 4:00. Great day out there for sure.
  4. Were hitting it in the afternoon for the pm bite
  5. Nice pick of fish. Hopefully the weather holds up for a nice weekend.
  6. Damn! Nice fish!
  7. Yea speed was a factor. I run a 150 with no kicker so i needed a drift sock out to get the speed right. Payed off though.
  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):3/17 Time on Water:7:30-2:00 Weather/Temp:41-43 Wind Speed/Direction:East (light) Waves: Dead Calm Surface Temp: Location:Mexico Launch to Nuke Plant LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 6 Total Boated:5 Species Breakdown:4 browns, 1 lake trout Hot Lure: Spoons and Sticks Trolling Speed: 1.9-2.2 Down Speed: Boat Depth:10-18 Lure Depth: 6-8 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== First trip out this year for me, the fog was a real bear but once it lifted the fish started hitting for about an hour and a half then it died off. Managed 4 browns, 2 were cookie cutters and 1 was 8 lbs and the other 9 lbs 1oz. We couldnt have asked for better weather once the fog lifted. Im sure if I could have found some colored water we would have done better. The only down side to the day was the blown water pump in my Jeep when I pulled the boat.....its always something. We did grab a 24" laker in 18' of water near the nuke plant on a green spoon down 6'. Never caught one in that shallow of water before. Anyways, both of the bigger browns were in 14ft can caught on orange and gold jointed rapalas on the flat lines.
  9. My dad and i found 4 and 1 laker yesterday in the bay. 2 cookie cutters and a 9lber and an 8 lber. They all hit within an hour afyer the fog lifted and they were all down betweek the stack and catfish. We didnt kill em but it was nice to get out there again.
  10. Nice pics! I would give anything to field hunt Geese. Always wanted to do it in fields.

  13. Great info guys. Thanks for sharing and i look forward to trying it this weekend.
  14. Congrats man. Ive tried rattling a bunch of times over the years in NY with no success at all. How aggressively were you rattling?
  15. Congrats! Nothing like your first bow kill.
  16. For what its worth, my season began October 1 st and we wwre blessed with 30 mph winds, rain and 45 degree temps. I was convinced that it would never happen but 45 minutes into the hunt and i was 18 yards from 2 bucks. One already in tye freezer thanks to the new Mathews Z7 extreme. Dont pre judge based on forecast because ya never know. Good luck everyone and be safe
  17. Thats awesome! I dream of someday shooting a big velvet buck like that. In december too? Congrats!
  18. We struggled too today in front og the salmon river. Marked a few kings but no takers. One brown for the grill tonight was all we could get but it sure was tasty.
  19. not a bad day at all considering I fished that whole area for 14 hours straight on Friday and only managed 1 teenager King and a descent Steelhead. Its amazing how much difference a couple days can make. Congrats!
  20. They have been killer on Lake O. Just picked up some flea flicker line by cortland so hopefully that solves the problem for us. Going back out again tomorrow to test it out.
  21. I too have the hds5 and found some of the YouTube videos very helpful for tweaking it. Worked great on lake o this weekend marking down rigger balls, fish and tons of bait
  22. Glad to see the temps rising have gotten the big eyes active. I hope to make a trip up this weekend to see if I can get a few. Congrats!
  23. Cool thanks for the input. I'm getting ready to make a decision and invest in some as we get closer to king season.
