  1. Liquid paint I forget the brand but it was next to the jig molds on the shelf open the jar grab the jig by the eye with a tool dip it in the jar than hang it from a clothsline or string to dry overtime the paint in the jar dries up but you could add thinner to it. I do my lead pouring in the driveway on a different day. With small jigs I found keep it simple and make lots I don't even paint them anymore I add color with a soft plastic or a bait or some hair Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. i found just straight dipping in the paint was the best coating. I would do them all white than do another color over that if desired if i just did the color over lead it wasn't as bright of a color. After a while though I stopped painting them all together because I found the jig body I used made more of a difference and with the head a dull color it just took that out of the equation. I also tie my own hair jigs now for stream trout and if i want color i use a color'd thread rather than painting the head. Its a fun hobby to get into making some of your own lures it helps pass the time you cant be on the water. My next goal i think is to try making my own stick baits

  4. The right size bolt with a wingnut head? Maybe some o rings or a piece of rubber tubing on the bolt to get the tension if you wanna get really slick make a mold of the plastic part of the other knob and pour some epoxy in it around the bolt head 70 is ridiculous for that part Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  20. hughes July 30 finally got a chance to go back to the big lake. got to the launch about 5:45 and was supprised by how many trailers were there. we got launched and left with the line of boats. we went past everyone else and started our set up in 325 we trolled north running two riggers and 3 dipseys. marked some fish in 320 but no takers did not mark anything all the way to 520 so we turned west to change the line and werent pointed that way 5 mins when the dipsey back 340 fired with a skippy. that would be the last dipsey hit all day. as that dipsey was going out the 80 rigger fired but came un buttoned after a minuet. set that back down and hit a skippy on the 90 rigger. at this point we still havent marked a fish we switched the 3rd dipsey to a 7 color down the chute just because having it in the way always gets us bit. we ended the day 6 for 11 with all hits on the riggers and cheaters from 90 down and up. got two big matures out of it a decent steely and a 2 year old. to the folks on here who suggested towing a boga type grip for catch and release thank you. all the fish swam away strong after a couple minuets even the one with the blood on it. the big king stripped out 600+ feet of line on the rigger rod than shot 3 feet out the water wayyyyy behind the boat. at some point after that she managed to get hook in her belly and I had to drag her in sideways my arm still hurts
