My favorite is still when I was a kid in my dads boat during the fall run when everyone was trolling the river mouth and they set the sailboat racing bout right in the middle of it. Or when anchored fishing perch and the put the racing bout 20 yards away and had the nerve to yell at us for not moiving [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

to go with what hooked up said its interesting I have a small boat and so spend more time on the fingers than lake O I have had many incidents on lake O espicially with a few charters. I have a small boat so everyone in a big boat thinks i'll just move but its made of aluminum and if it sinks I can replace it for less than it would cost them to fix the damage to theirs. plus when you get pushed between a boat and the pier i'll take the boat anyday. That aside on the finger lakes I have had almost no problems. even fishing in crowds where people get close because of no choice nobody purposly cuts each other off and overall are a lot more curteous. Maybe its a country thing were just lower stress out here.

I've seen steelies in the tribs late when the sallies are spawning the bass chase them from nests hard core and repeatedly bite the tails. The rough teeth would leave wounds that would bleed for a while. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -

Ps. The magic wave number is 2 feet or less. More than that gets real tough in a small boat [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -

I fish out of a 14' starcraft spring browns summer walleye and fall kings are all doable but check that wave forecast often and day of. If you can afford it I recommend lcs. For your dipseys that way you can let them out and set another line at the same time. Also look to the fingerlakes withthat boat a lot more fishable days for a small boat and can build that urge a bit [ Post made via Mobile Device ] -
Get P line I use it for trolling and I use it for leaders for ice fishing pike I have more confidence in my leaders than my main line 15 on the small rods 20 on the bigger stuff [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

So I gave it one more shot at Watkins had the starter issues fixed and after some effort the old girl fired up and I went out unfortunately I was alone so only had 2 rods fished for 4 hours and went 2 for 3 small LL all on sticks 2 on orange all at the south end not the day I wanted but the boat runs and I got my first open water fish of this season so not an all bad day I was surprised by the number of boats [ Post made via Mobile Device ] [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

If my boat were any smaller it would be a cartop im coming from the north so maybe Severn is a good idea but barring a north wind I will be out there [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Im taking the boat out for the first time this year. I decided im going to make a bigger effort to learn Seneca as its the closest lake to mess it worth it to launch on the north end now or should I just drive right to Watkins or is there another launch somewhere south of Sampson. I will post how I do regardless but a little friendly advice never hurts [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

what is it?

believe it or not we sell those skulls although we require them a bit cleaner than that. Also have the full skeletons or preserved whole fish for dissection. I love the science supply buisness. -
first one is a snake head back when they were leagel a knew a couple friends that had them as pets. the second one its hard to tell but the head doesnt look quite right wish the fish was out of the water for the pic but hopefully it is a darter i'd hate to see another invasive come in though i'd love to go to there native range and fish for them
-
I actully target these things once or twice a year fish them like pike with a big live bait have gotten a couple over 10lbs what a blast and they will bite and snap at you
-
dont be afraid of ebay I got a reasonable set of manuals two for 60 bucks perfect for my little starcraft on the finger lakes
-
tough call with that picture but i'm glad she ate it two I will say it sounds like the canadian news likes to sensationalize and use scare tactics just like our media Can survive freezing my a$$ and 1.8m whats that like 7 ft even the giant snakehead doesnt get that big but they are a danger that part they got right
-
I like sliders but i never have more than one person in the boat with me plus its a small boat so space is premium plus you get the extra lures without the extra lines to tangle in works great in the finger lakes

as a hypothetical if there was no exclusion zone and you could fish as close as say 50 ft would that change anybodys view? i'd love to have some artifical structure to concentrate fish as for the rest i would have to do some real research to comment on it. in my experience (i'm a scientist by trade) most of the evidence put forth in arguments for this type of thing are greatly exaggerated to support one side or the other. and yes this would be better than a coal plant though i dont think that thats even on the table -
when getting swivels two words ball bearings they are worth every penny

I think the best thing you can do for the lake is to keep a variety of species in high numbers it makes for more fishing opportunites in more conditions and if somthing happens that one spieces has a real bad year something elese can boom preventing the fishing industry from taking a big hit and by the way I'm jealous of that atlantic my biggest ever was approx 10lbs caught in the river fought like hell it swam away and hopefully didnt get snagged and thrown on shore that year

currently i have a wire set up a braid set up that I use with a deep six with and a lead core I also have 3 rigger rods and actully can put a board out on the port side of my boat. the motors a 66 johnson 40 horse it runs great but is a hog on gas so my range is limited and I dont like to be off shore in anything but real calm in case something happens with that motor, in the past I've had a gas line rupture i've also had the recoil break which is bad when the electric start doesnt work (never has) both times the troller has been good to get me in or a tow in the case of water in the gas (boat flooded over night had to bail 2ft water in the morning should have checked gas). but in lake O with a little wind I could get in trouble quick. most of my equip is borrowed from dad he doesnt salmon fish anymore so he lets me use it to keep certian others from borrowing and runing it so I have that bit of a head start. I will definatly take you up on the offer rdebadats I'm working sat the 21 but am free sun the 22 of august or if your an evening guys i'll be out around noon on the 21 and i will def look at the open seats topic
