  1. Thursday night,9:50 pm a 34" muskie to the boat, then at 10:21 pm another 37" muskie.Tommy Reinhardt had a 48 to 50" muskie in the net and out of the net, lost the fish and broke his favorite lure.
  2. 1 Beckman walleye net bag left!
  3. I just called her and volunteered to be there at 9 am to help her watch over the expected crowd and to keep people from trying to beat her down on already very low prices. Yes, Fbodice being a widow she probably needs every penny she can get, by looking at the fact she is selling anything she can put a price tag on kinda somes that up.
  4. She did have help from us fishermen in what to charge. She went lower then we told her on many items because she really needs it all to be sold.Large Musky Crankbaits $10(some valued at $30 like Hookers, old flat lip Bagley DB-8 crankbaits in special colors not made anymore go for $35 on eBay) Medium Musky Crankbaits $5(some worth $15 to $20 like glass eyed Pike Minnows & custom painted Bagley DB-06 crankbaits) smaller walleye crankbaits $3 (most are new like Walleye Divers in Crome finish and bright colors) Bass crankbaits $2 spoons .50(like giant red & white Wonder Lures)power tools $4 to $8(hand drills, drill bit sharpener , sanders, etc).Size XL Hunting & Fishing Clothes Believe me if your there early Saturday your going to get the best deals you could imagine.
  5. If your catching lots of silver bass put away the worm harnesses. But I would start out using worm harnesses stick baits & spoons off the downriggers. Then it will dictate to you what is catching walleye, then change everything over to what is working.I have caught everything on stick baits one day and the next day could not catch a fish, by the time I put out worm harnesses I lost most of the good bite time of the morning or afternoon. So I always start out with a mixed bag of everything to start.
  6. One of the Niagara River's greatest fishermen past away , Dave Flegier and his wife is having a big garage sale this weekend to sell his stuff. There are a large assortment of Muskie, Walleye, Bass & Trout crankbaits, spinners, spoons, rods, reels, line etc Hunting clothes, Archery equipment, Power Tools, Hand Tools etc All at rock bottom prices, if your not there early Saturday I can bet most everything will be gone quickly they are priced so low. 62 Broadmoor Drive, Tonawanda, NY August 23rd & 24th! Just to give you an idea , I only purchased 20 Three D worm harnesses, the wide willow in copper/ orange and copper watermelon tape for $20 with the box included, I got to see things today, but my wallet was empty or I would have spent over $400 and got over $2500 worth of tackle, just from what interested me and I would have only touched a 20th of the stuff available.Get there early Saturday and the choices will be endless!
  7. I still have the 2 Beckman 22 X 28 treated bags with rim (no handles), but if you own a Beckman Salmon or Musky Net that handle can be used. $30 if picked up, $10 more to ship it.716-432-0198 or private email me Retail for this net with the handle is $123.95
  8. You can also use 5 lb rubber bands when fishing walleye,Easy to break for fluttering!
  9. I 2nd the Blacks downrigger release, they work great from small worm harnesses to large diver crankbaits.
  10. Chris, I will be down by the Pa line this Sunday if the weather permits, maybe I will see you down there!
  11. The last two days everything has been tight lipped directly on the bottom, not moving a bit!
  12. The data from the Niagara River / Buffalo Harbor Angler Diary Study has been used to collect info since 1994.This information has been used in the past for size limit changes, season changes and muskie conservation study programs. We would not be asking for exact spot of your catch, east or west river, north or south gap is sufficient.Catch rates determine what condition our fishery is in and what if any changes that might need to be done to keep what we have or make it better.
  13. Chris, Did you go west toward the Pa line? Past the 2nd Red House at the Water Fall on the front and back of the 50 ft ridge in 62 ft of water has been good using harnesses in copper / orange tape or copper watermelon tape at 2.0 mph off dipsey #3 setting 175 out.
  14. Ivan,I think Bernard sold Stringease to Mustad,I will see if I can get you a couple size #10 StayLok that are 2" long and very tough to open, but will never open on their own.I put Aussie 650 lb Swivels on the #10 StayLok Snap for planner board snaps(this snap setup will last for many years)
  15. The Niagara Musky Asociation has had an Angler Diary Study ongoing since 1994.It is very important to collect data on fish caught and location to keep tabs on how the Niagara River Muskies are doing.Anyone that is not a member of the NMA that would like to help us out by giving the info on catch size, date, approximently where, conditions, casting or trolling, water temp, air temp, lure type.your name and witness to catch,we would add this important info to our data that we give to the NSDEC.You can private email me here or send it to [email protected]. Thanks, Capt Larry
  16. Because the Niagara River can be gin clear where you can see bottom even in depths to 30 ft,night fishing is your best option under those gin clear water conditions.I also like the New Moon, dark side, the best as well.Second best is the period after the sun goes down before the moon rises, that little darkness period. You can just about always fish the Upper Niagara River in any wind condition, just have to alternate where you launch.Under heavy west winds that roll water over the docks at the Town of Tonawanda Boat Launch,go down River Road to Isle View Launch, the high banks allow for calm water. When you have a North wind that rolls up again'st the river current go to Big 6 Marina on Grand Island and cross over up stream to Black Creek where the wind will come off the shore because of the bend in the river. For those 35 + mph SW wind days the Canadian edge of the West River will be flat up against the shore edge, there are many launches along the Niagara Parkway.
  17. All 3 boats out trolling on Sunday night caught smallmouth bass on muskie crankbaits and a couple walleyes were caught. We gave the smallmouth bass a chance to get full and the muskies a chance to get hungry,we took last night off.Back on the water tonight before the rain and front moves in.Water temp is coming down nice, now 69 degrees, that is 5 degrees below normal for this time in August.Floating grass & weeds can be a little troublesome ,but no moss bat all.Muskies are setting up in the 12 to 14 ft depths at night with the cooler water temps.Best action has been the 1st hour of darkness around 9 pm and from midnight to 1 am,when the muskies are on.Trolling Depthraiders Jtd,Wiley's Jtd,Mr. Toothy Lures & Polish Perch in gold or brown colors at 3.0 mph upstream following drop edges or accross stream placing lures behind humps has been the best method. There also have been a few nice fish caught by the Red October Tube drifters working the deeper trenches between Strawberry Island and Frenchmen's Creek.Tossing crankbaits on the flat's point just below Thompson Hole up by the Peace Bridge has also produced a few nice muskies. One angler has also done well using Buck Perry Spoonplug"s working the channel by Grassy Island down the East River near the North Grand Island Bridge. Biggest muskies caught in the last 10 days have been two 49" Fatties by NMA Members!
  18. Tonight we could not touch a muskie, only 2 smallmouth bass around 4 lbs each and a walleye 5 to 6 lbs.Every muskie I marked was directly laying on bottom.Back out tomorrow night.
  19. After delivering 146 Nets,I find myself left with (2) two walleye 22 X 28 net bags with hoops, no handles. If you already own a Salmon Beckman Net your handle will fit the walleye hoop and net bag.For $30 you can have a smaller Net for Brown's,walleye & bass.
  20. Great catch of Eyes! Congrats!
  21. Chris,It took longer then it should have to get the Nets,So I thought it was best to hand deliver them! Your Welcome!
  22. All those who had ordered Nets, I delivered them this morning, starting 46 miles east of Rochester on NY Route 104, with 7 stops between to Lockport.A good number of nets were left on porches, please let me know you found them when you returned home.
  23. You can go to Sears Hardware Store and buy Brass bushing to go over the Church tx-44 back pin, where the line is again'st,so the power braid does not cut the plastic pin.
