  1. Another Dink night,34 1/2",33" & 31" male muskies from the East River.Weeds were very bad, quit at 10:30 pm.
  2. I used duct tape to close up the wound.Back out tonight for some more muskie action.
  3. I could not believe my eyes Thursday afternoon at the Town of Tonawanda Boat Launch, I seen a guy and girl lift a flat bottom wood dingy that was about 6ft long and only about 12" of side board. My Tracker Targa 2000 21 ft glass boat that weighs near 4000 lbs with gear was rolling up and down 4 ft from the boat traffic waves.I just could not see how they were even going out!
  4. If you put it in the middle of the Leadcore you will get a big drop in the center of the Leadcore and that portion of Leadcore will be deeper then your crankbait.Needs to be at the backing after all the Leadcore is out to get the full movement effect of the Leadcore line to add to crankbait action. You can adjust the guide wires on a Gibbs Weight so it will slide down the Leadcore to the leader when fish hooks up, connect the weight on the Leacore side at the backing tie.Every ounce of weight gets you about 5 ft deeper, not much more because of the water resistance of the bigger diameter Leadcore.
  5. Last night was a little on the slow side, only 37" & 33" muskies trolling the West river in Canadian waters. The 33"er thrashed out of my hand and caught my arm with a gill plate and cut me, need 6 pieces of mend tape to close the cut.I'm going back out again tonight hopefully better results.
  6. I have know Ivan for many years, you do not get anymore musky conservation minded then him!
  7. Go to Captian Bob's Tackle in Clarence, some guy left a whole bunch of J - plugs on consignment to sell cheap!
  8. Brent fingar,Congrats on a great day of muskie fishing. Please thank your Marine friend for his service! Mike Sperry has become one of the best muskie guides on Chautauqua Lake and is off to another great season! I will miss being on Chautauqua Lake, but look forward to getting back to night fishing on the Niagara River.
  9. Rougarou, Thank You for the great Link!
  10. Ivan, yes the fish had one yellow blind eye.I also noticed that most muskies caught at Chautauqua Lake 40 inches and over have scars,10% have red spot disease that is raw as well.I may only get back to Chautauqua Lake a couple times with Dr Dave this year, the remainder of the year will be on the Niagara River. The small stretch that I spent on Chautauqua Lake these last few days the trolling bite was very good for me and others I seen dip a net! Good luck to those who continue to fish Chautauqua!
  11. Now that I have completed my make up charters at Chautauqua Lake, the rest of the season will be night trips on the Niagara River and daylight November in the Buffalo Harbor. The night action has been fair for those who have been getting out, moss has been a problem on and off.My first charter is this Thursday night, I will report here after.
  12. The gauge is an Osprey trolling speed indicator, it has its own paddle wheel generator and gives steady accurate surface speed.I take that speed and add it to gps speed over ground and divide by 2= Lure Speed. When going into or with the wind, slow down or speed up so when you divide by 2 the Lure Speed is the same and lure action will always be the same.
  13. The last 4 days at Chautauqua Lake were very good fishing,I'm now back to the Niagara River for the rest of 2014!
  14. 40 3/4",40 1/2" & 32" muskies on Sunday.Today my client reeled in a very fat 49 1/2" muskie and 20 minutes later a 44"er.Pix are on my camera, I will load them to my computer when I return home on Thursday and the post the pix here.
  15. Congrats to Bill, very nice fat muskie.
  16. 5 muskies yesterday to 42" and 3 muskies today to 40 3/4", weeds were not bad at all! I seen a lot of nets hit the water both days from boats fishing the Three Rivers Tourney, no info on size, numbers or winners.
  17. Pradco will ship the Net Order early next week, I will contact each person for a delivery time when they arrive.I will be gone to Chautauqua Lake guiding over the weekend, so may not be able to answer private email until Monday afternoon.
  18. Blue Water Beach Campground does have a two bedroom Cottage for rent as well!
  19. Some also like the Torpedo Wire because it doesn't collect fleas as much.
  20. The 7 strand 30 lb wire is 2.5 to 1 ratio(30 ft takes 70 ft of wire) on crankbaits and 3.0 to 1 ratio(30 ft takes 90 ft of wire) for harnesses at 2.0 mph.
  21. I hope to see a few of my friends from Three Rivers Chapter this weekend.
  22. Go just east of the harbor to 70 ft!
  23. I also like using 10 lb P Line Mono when pulling worm harnesses. When long lineing crankbaits I prefer Blood Run 7 Strand stainless fishing wire 30 lb to get deep.
  24. Heron 1961, I will be back to Camp Prendergast at my camp site by 7 pm every night this Friday thu Monday if you want to stop by and chat a while! Capt Larry
  25. Beckman 30x42 treated Salmon Nets are all gone. All the Musky Pen Saver Nets are gone.Only 2 walleye nets remain for sale.Pradco will ship the order to be here by the middle of next week and I will contact each person about delivery time and date then. Thanks to all that purchased Nets,it has been a pleasure doing the LOU Net Deal the last three years.I may see if Frabil wants to do this next year!
