I also have been to Conesus Lake twice this year and the nothern pike & tiger muskie fishing has been very tough.For 17 hours total fishing time we have one 22" northern pike caught and 3 that got off close to the boat.Usualy this time of the year on the south end by the inlet,the drop edges are very good places to catch numbers of northern pike at least,not for me this year.I'm seeing more fish suspended out over 45 ft of water 20 ft down around bait fish schools,but they have not been active at all.58.5 degrees surface water temp near the inlet,66.5 degrees water surface temp near the launch and 68 degree surface water temp in McPherson Bay. I think from now till the 3rd Saturday in June I will head for NW Pa lakes for purebred muskies.

  4. Old man, Make the hole in the center a little bigger and you can lift it out and stick your front casting seat post into it and your favorite lures are at reach.

  6. I'm headed for Otisco Lake in the am,but found some of my old Clearfork Lake Ohio lures,AC Shiner 550's in black to gold side to orange belly to try downsizing next trip to Conesus Lake.

I keep having a tough time at Conesus Lake trying to figure the tigers out.I marked more big hooks out in 45 ft of water 25ft down then anywhere else but could not get them to go.The water temp was back down to 58 degrees.I will try Otisco Lake on Monday before the NY Muskies 69 meeting. The perch schools off Crystal Beach only moved about 100 yds in from 55ft to 53ft today.Caught my 25 jumbo perch in an hour and 10 minutes,freezer is getting packed on one side, time for walleye next.I hope to get a few night trips in before muskie season, busy on weekends with northern pike & tiger muskie trips now.   15. Mike, I know about the Memorial Day Weekend start, but Mike Clancy was set on November 30th Closing last time I talked to him.Still wondering why it has not come up for Public Review at the NSDEC website yet.If it doesn't go up for Public Review it doesn't usualy happen!

We may only post the highlights of previous meetings, some info from the minutes needs to stay in house and will only be discussed by members at the NY Muskies 69 membership meetings.The full minutes of previous meetings are read at every meeting and anything from those minutes can be brought up under old business discussion. We will have further discussion on if we will send the full minutes on the email webring to active members at the May 20th NY Muskies 69 Meeting. A few years back a fishermen posted pictures of three big sturgeon they caught in the north gap of the Buffalo Harbor.They were targeting them to catch three from the same spot.The pictures, their email address and isp number were turned in to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Last time I talked to Mike Clancy from NYSDEC Region 9 the Inland Muskie Season for 2014 was starting on Memorial Day Weekend Saturday and closing on November 30th.But now I'm a little concerned that it was never put up for Public Review.I will ask the NY Muskies 69 Board of Directors if they can send a letter asking Mike Clancy for clarification since we have heard nothing yet.I did recieve a letter from Steve Lapan NYSDEC Region 6 explaining their reasoning for no changes now for the Great Lakes Waters. Joe, I will address this issue about previous months meeting minutes at Mondays meeting.There is no reason why the minutes are not sent out on the webring within 24 hours of a meeting.Also they should be posted at www.nymusky.com , LOU & www.mostlymuskies.com/reports.htm under NY Muskies Inc.   21. Next meeting is Monday the 20th of May. Please try to attend if you’re at all able. Meeting will be held at 7:00 PM and at The Moose Lodge in Henrietta. Brad Hammers, a fisheries biologist with the DEC’s Region 8 will be in to provide information and updates on the Southern tier muskie fisheries including Waneta lake; as well as the DEC’s activities and plans for Waneta and Lamoka lakes the future. Yes, you heard that right: we said Lamoka lake too! Come down to the meeting and get the drop on what this is all about and join the discussion on MI-NY’s potential involvement. We hope to see you there! Open to the Public!
  22. Back to Conesus again this coming Saturday.I will spend most of the day up north on the white bouey line on east side ,hopefully the tigers have moved north by now.Maybe we will see a few of you out there.

  25. I tie Improved Clinch Knot on all my 80 lb Fluorocarbon Muskie Leaders and have never had any pull apart in 20 years.I do use Polymar Knot on all powerbraids and 19 Strand Torpedo Wire. Capt Larry
