  3. I did not miss much by not going to Conesus for the opener. But then again I drove 1 1/2 hours to Barcelona Harbor went out in the bright super moon night to only catch 3 walleye between the two of us. I should have went back to Coneautt Lake and caught 3 more purebred muskies.See everyone Wednesday at the NY Muskies Inc. Chapter meeting.
  4. Late June & early July we always did better night fishing for muskies. Not at Alexander Bay ,but down river to Ogdensburg,NY.Just downstream from the Ogdensburg Marina is the Odgensburg Bar,we would bounce Hellbender Waterdogs along the bar bottom. Also Red October Tubes in White color bounced accross the bar would be a good choice.Over the years many very big muskies have been caught off the Ogdensburg Bar! Capt. Larry

I went out of Barcenlona Harbor on Lake Erie at 10:00 pm Saturday night, headed down the lake around the rock piles to the 10 to 12 ft depths infront of DJ's Campground.Marked lots of bait fish, but only caught 3 eyes in 4 hours of trolling. Caught all 3 walleye by long lineing rapala's 120 back at 1.8 mph.Black & Silver S-13 Rapala's! Usually this time of the year we catch limits for two of us,either the super moon made it to bright out or a good number olf the walleye have moved out to 24 to 26ft depths already.

  12. Mike,Looking at 2011 Tiger Muskie Stocking Report, they put 9700 10.5" tigers in Conesus last year. Maybe we can get a few 100 of those 10.5"ers when they do the stocking this year and hold them in a Pen and feed them until Ice up and see how big we can get them. Depends on what time they stock them and how much time we have before Ice up. But then again we have to get the NY DEC to buy into any project of this type. See you May 9th,7 pm at Dicks! Capt. Larry
  13. Mike, We can talk about possibly having a Tiger Muskie Pen Rearing Program at Conesus Lake at the NY Muskies Inc. startup meeting at Dick's Sporting Goods at 7:00 pm, May 9th. Could be better puting in around 200 tigers over 10" to 12" every year! Capt. Larry

  18. In past years I have done better for eyes in the Lower Niagara River & Niagara Bar toward the end of May to mid June. But then again the water temps are 6 degrees above normal this year at 47 dregees.I usualy do best around 52 degrees. There will most likely be some walleye at Peggy's Eddy, Lower Stella Drift and the sand bar out infront of Fort Niagara. Most use worm harnesses,I have done well with Kwikfish size 05 in Blue Metalic(I take off front hook and tip one prong of the tail hook with a piece of crawler) use off three way rig.Being from Washington state I use what I used out there for stream drifting, from the weight end of the three way rig I use a 10" lead with snap through a piece of rubber surgical tubeing, then I use pencil lead starting with about a 2 ounce peice or more depending on current. If lead gets caught between shale rock crevices, you only loose the lead and get the whole rig back, just put in a new lead.
  19. I will swing by Crouch's this Thursday and put 105 gallons in the truck bed tank,60 gallons in the boat and another 15 to 20 gallons in the regular truck tank.About $750,but would cost me about $100 more at the marina's! Fishing is getting expensive! Capt. Larry
  20. Our guest speaker in May will be Johnny Dadson from Dadson Blades. John primarily fishes Georgian Bay and he'll discuss casting strategies for the big bay. Carrie Keane is accepting new or gently used clothing donations, and canned or dry food stuffs for the Vietnam Veterans Association. We will be taking NMA Pike Tournament (Sunday, May 6th) entries. We'll have Beckman Nets, Knipex, stainless steel single strand trolling, jerkbait and casting leaders, replacement hooks, NMA merchandise. NMA Meeting starts at 7:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 55 Main St, City of Tonawanda, NY. I hope to see you all at the May Meeting Capt. Larry
  21. Here is a source for Non-Eth 89 octane gasoline close to Chautauqua Lake, Crouch's Garage 2 East Main Street,Panama,NY http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... Panama,+NY They also have Non-Eth 91 at Snug Harbor Marina, but much higher in price. Capt. Larry
  22. Dan, That would be great! Are you going to fish the June 23rd Tourney? If you are you can just bring the lures to the awards presentation and put them on the raffle table. If not we will most likely see each other some time from openning day to the friday before the Tourney at Predergast Launch if you want to save the postage. They will be fighting each other to get to the LungeLumber Lures on the raffle table! Thanks, Capt. Larry
  23. Chad,I would put a big LOU Logo on the side of your boat, but change the fish in the logo to a tooth showing muskie with a blue eye!
  24. Chad, Try driving 22 hours to Mn and not catching any fish in the PMTT,been there! Just curious what lures caught most of the fish there this weekend for the top five winners?
