  1. Now that Joe Esox is in we only need 4 more LOU members to order a Net as well.We need 5 Nets ordered to place the order, but we can continue the order to as many nets needed for all that want one!
  2. I know one fishermen that caught & released 120 muskies in one week and another 112 muskies in one week on St.Clair.I went out 101 trips out on Chautauqua Lake & Buffalo Harbor/Niagara River to get 106 muskies for the whole year!
  3. Chad,If the Lake Ontario LOU Guy's want Salmon Nets we can get pricing for them as well!
  4. I have been selling Beckman Nets wholesale for sometime now, they are resold by Muskies Inc Clubs and the Niagara Musky Assoc.I thaught I would olffer this Net Deal to You LOU Guy's.We would have to purchase at least 5 Nets to get free shipping. So if your interested in getting a Beckman Magnum Finsaver Net for less then 50% of Retail give me a private email for pricing. They would be ordered in bulk and all the Nets would have to be mailed to one address in the Rochester area and everyone else would have to collect their Net from there.Shipping costs are to high to purchase less then 5 Nets,5 or more nets the shipping is free from Pradco.
  5. Mike, Write up an Online Petition to Stock PureBred Muskies in Conecus Lake.Get as many people here to sign the petition then we can forward it to the NY DEC Warmer Waters Fisheries Dept in Albany ,NY. I can work on Region 9 NY DEC and Prendergast Hatchery personel about getting onboard for this Stocking Effort!
  6. I have decided to guide on Lake St.Clair for the openning week,June 9th to June 15th next year. After seeing the pictures from friends that fished there for the openner last year I just can't miss out on that action. Will go out of Belle River!
  7. Only 14 fishermen in so far for the first Drawing for 4 Beckman Magnum Finsaver Nets on December 31st! Odds are Very Good to Win a Net!
  8. The Buffalo Harbor is full of walleye's this time of the year in December, feeding on the emerald shinners top to bottom in the South Gap.No one fishes for them either, some are over 10 lbs!
  9. The past few years Lake Erie's mean peak water temprature has increased and the fall weather has been very warm. This has slowed down the cooling of Lake Erie water to the point where Lake Erie stays warmer out deep then the shallows. This also keeps the gizzard shad school's and muskies out deep until the season ends in NY at the Buffalo Harbor on Nov 30th.So with the season still being open till Dec 15th in the Ontario portion of Lake Erie it was time to troll out deep to investigate.Mark S. and I started out by the Ice Boom Bouey's to the Ontario side of Waverly Shoal and did not mark much there,so we continued out deeper toward Point Abino.Knowing that the perch usualy school up in the 50 ft waters off Wind Mill Point, that is where we headed. Not much of anything on the depthsounder in 46 degree water from 32 ft to 47 ft of water. Then at 49 ft water the screen begin to show life and at 50ft it became gizzard shad top to bottom with big hooks mixed in.The water temp was 47.5 degrees,1.5 degrees warmer then the Buffalo Harbor, also the 50ft water is just behind a 32 ft hump so it is a current break from waters being pushed toward the head of the Niagara River. We hit those large gizzard shad school's in every direction with no luck.I decided to give the area another try on Tuesday and after 3 hours managed to hookup and catch a little fat football 39" muskie that had been eating very well.Today would have been a good day to go out there again, but my boat is down waiting on a new ECU.Going to snow starting tonight through friday,so maybe early next week when we get back to the 40's again I'll talk someone into going out again.
  10. The NY DEC decided to change Finley Lake from a Tiger Muskie Lake to a PureBred Muskie Lake. This past October the first bunch of 10" PureBred Muskie Fingerlings were stocked. In 3 to 4 years we should have another PureBred Muskie Lake here in Western NY! Now if we could only talk them into doing the same at Conecus Lake!
  11. Mike, Did Chad send you an email about Rods?
  12. Mike,I emailed you the phone number to the region 9 office, they should be able to give you a direct phone number to Larry King at the Prendergast Hatchery.Larry should be able to give you the info you need on Lomoka stocking in the past.

  16. Chad & Joe, What a great season you guys had casting,Congrads! I'm waiting for Dr. Dave at the Buffalo Harbor this morning. We will most likely get blown off for Tomarrow with 25 to 30 mph SW winds with gusts to 40 mph, will be 9ft plus waves breaking over the long wall.Has been very tough fishing the last two weeks,Lake Erie is still warmer then the Harbor, gizzard shad & muskies are out in the Lake still! [ Post made via Android ]
  17. I would get into a $5 per person big fish tourney in late October. But to have a big tourney with food and all just has not been that profitable for all the effort and expense to do it right.Liability Insurance, buttons, forms, mailings, food and supplies use up almost all funds left over after prize payout.A raffle ticket will make more money for the Baitfish Fund, sold all summer and drawn in October. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. We will only have one Chautauqua Tourney this year, the Fall Tourney has only had 60 Entrants the last two years, not enough participation to make any funds for the Bait Fish Fund.We will have a yearly raffle ticket instead to raise the extra needed funds! [ Post made via Android ]
  19. There are changes in the prize payout and many early signup prize drawings. Go to www.mostlymuskies.com/reports.htm to see the changes. I will post signup link here after the end of Nov Harbor Hawg Hunt! [ Post made via Android ]
  20. Zach, So far besides the Fattie 47",45 1/2",44",42" & 35" muskies on the Capt Larry color.Water visability has been very poor since Thursday chocalate milk and fishing has been very slow. [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Chad,Very Nice Fish! [ Post made via Android ]
  22. Chad & Joe,you guys are having very good fall casting action After 4 months at camp near Chautauqua I had to go home while I was still welcome.I should have just gave you guys the RV trailer keys.I have been trolling through trash floating around the Buffalo Harbor, not marking much so far. Capt.Larry [ Post made via Android ]
  23. The Prendergast Hatchery has not missed stocking of muskies at Chautauqua due to VHS.They use an iodine treatment of the eggs to eliminate any presence of VHS. Trolling for muskies in the deep flow of the north basin produced some big walleyes for us this year, they hit 9" muskie crankbaits,29 to 31 inchers. [ Post made via Android ]
  24. Joe,The hook looks like a Plasma Point Hook from Reaction Strike, they are very soft bending. Capt. Larry [ Post made via Android ]
  25. I wanted to take a minute of time to Thank everyone here at LOU for all your support for the Chautauqua Bait Fish Fund! Together we are making NY Inland Muskie Waters World Class. There is more participation and funds raised here at LOU then anywhere,Thank You! Capt. Larry D. Jones [ Post made via Android ]
