  4. Saturday out of Barcalona Harbor it was straight out to 70ft of water.Most of the fish were up atound 20ft down.Harnesses in copper inside-blue with pink tape outside got 9 Eyes for onr boat. [ Post made via Android ]

I just found out from the St.Croix Factory the two Big Nasty Rods we will get are going to be mfg with a more supierior resin,they will be 30% Stronger!the cork handle will be slightly longer and a little blgger in diametor with a tougher reel seat. They will have Legend Elite quality.We will get them before the public even sees them,value $360 each.Be sure to signup by July 31st for the Sept 10th Tourney to get in the Big Nasty Rod Drawing!   10. We now have 130 fishermen in the Tourney! You can still use PayPal signup thru Sunday,monday is the last day I can mail any Tourney Packets to arrive at someones house before the Tourney,then you have to go to Happy Hooker Tackle from monday on to friday the 24th to sign up.I will also be at Mayville Launch from 6 to 9 am on Tourney Dat June 25th for the last late Tourney Entrants! All indications are the first month of the Chautauqua muske season will be a Trolling bite,out over deep water for suspended fish.The grass growth has taken over the shallows,depeating oxygen,suspending fish out deep.Troll crankbaits 15 ft down over 34 to 35 ft of water at 4.5 to 5.2 mph!   11. Bob, That is a great idea about adding instructions on proper handling of muskies and tools needed in with the Tourney Packet. Trouble is I already mailed them out because I will be on the water every day starting Saturday June 18th thru Friday June 24th and have no time. I will add the NMA Release Pamplet in with the Sept 10th Tourney Packets! Also I'm doing a Seminar on friday September 9th at 7:00 pm the day before the September 10th Tourney, I'll cover Muskie CPR then as well. Capt. Larry

  15. As Vice Pres. of E.L.E.C.B.A. I have talked to a good number of our charter captians this past week,it has been very slow for all! The only good reports I have heard are the Night Bite trolling #13 Rapalas in chartruse & silver at 1.7 mph, 120 back in 10 ft flow off PJ's Campground and Dunkirk side of VanBrien Point. Capt. Larry

  17. As of Friday June 10th we have 112 fishermen in the Chautauqua Tourney! Don't forget if you plan to fish the Tourney and you have not paid your Entry Fee Tuesday is the last day you can use PayPal to Enter.It is already to late to mail in an Entry.   19. Zach,That would be great,having Baker Baits on the table will definately bring out some dollars that would have not been spent! I won four items from the NMA Raffle table tonight,those will go on the Chautauqua Tourney Raffle Table as well. Capt. Larry
  20. Those who are fishing the Chautauqua Musky Cash Tournament June 25th,I could use a little help for Lures & Items for the Raffle Table! If each person could bring One Lure or other fishing related item to go along with the items I have we could build a very big prize table. Please keep trying to get friends to signup for the Tourney also,we need all the funds we can raise.I will talk soon with the NY DEC about our possability of habitat improvement,replanting cabbage & coontail in other places on Chautauqua Lake to have more great places for our muskies to hangout.I stopped by the Prendergast hatchery yesterday and they had four tanks of little match stick size muskies feeding on brine shrimp,they are on their way.

Anyone that gets in the Tourney now sends all funds directly to the Bait Fish Fund. Lets see if we can get another 40 or 50 signed up,ask a friend,mention the Tourney to other fishermen you meet at boat ramps & tackle stores,lets try to have the biggest muskie tourney ever on Chautauqua Lake! Notice: Menu Change; We will now have Pete's Famous Chicken Barbque, 1/4 chicken, potato salad & baked beans for each Tourney Fisherman! We will have a Donation Can out to hopefuly get back the costs of the food and not take from funds needed by the Bait Fish Fund.

I could not set anything up before the Tourney because I'm busy on the water every day.Mike Sperry is giving a muskie seminar over at Mayville Marina on June 23rd at 7:00 pm. 90 Entrants as of today,need everyone to find another friend and talk them into joining us,150 would be very nice.McDonald's became a Sponser today,Free Big Mac's for Tourney Fishermen!
