Minn Kota trolling motor repair
mostlymuskies replied to JOE ESOX's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I would take it to Tony Anthony in Orchard Park,he will repair it right and stand behind his work.Could be just the micro switch in the foot control. If you repair it your self and do something wrong you may be out more dollars or the price of a whole new unit. N.Y. MUSKELLUNGE REGULATIONS
mostlymuskies replied to Stinky Finger's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
The northern pike slot limit is needed most durring Ice fishing time, because that is when they are pressured the most.Lake Erie already has a 54" sizelimit for purebred muskies, it should be total Catch & Release. The upper niagara river has 48"on the NY side, but only 44" on the Canadian side, they need to get the Canadian side up to 48" as well.Because so many fishermen use the northern pike earlier season to actualy target muskies on the niagara river and lake erie, the buffalo harbor area should not open for northern pike until the 3rd saturday in June, allowing the big girls to spawn without stress. mostlymuskies replied to Ronix 51's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Gander Mtn Tonawanda use to have two full ailes of muskie lures when my son Nelson was the store manager in 2008. After he left the stores muskie area got smaller and smaller, now it has about 6' X 4' area of Bucher,Storm,Muskies Inovation,Double Cowgirl's and Red October Tubes and that is about it. -

Stinky Finger, Chets Tackle and all the rest of the Tackle stores that had muskie tackle in the Buffalo Area are all closed.Closest tackle store with any sizable amount of muskie tackle is Happy Hooker Bait Shop on Route 394 going into Lakewood,NY down by Chautauqua Lake.Other then that is the NMA ,Internet Musky Stores or eBay! Ronix 51, Here is another good read for you! http://books.google.com/books?id=ttiYPW ... ts&f=false Slide up and down and read the whole book.

Ronix 51, You should join the Niagara Musky Assoc. Inc.,I know it is so far from Rochester! But at the NMA Meetings on the 1st Tuesday of the month at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main Street in the City of Tonawanda at 7:00 pm,as a member(cost $20 a year),Knipex Cutters $40,Beckman Magnum Finsaver Net $80,Stringese Stay-Lok Shaps,Treble Hooks,Muskie Leaders,Measure Sticks are sold by the club cheap. There is always muskie lure vendors with sales on lures etc.. at every meeting. Another good place to be is Howard Wagners Spring Fling this coming Saturday down in Frombell,PA,1/2 way between Pittsburgh & Erie,Pa off I-79,you can ride along with me if you can get to my house in Buffalo by 5:00 am. Then eBay is a good place once you know what to buy. Capt. Larry -
The best fishing for muskies is on a falling barometric pressure.I like from 29:95 to 28:85,always get bigger fish hitting then. But if your on one of those consant high pressure periods where the baometric pressure has been above 30:10 to 3:20 for a few days in a row, just the slightest barometric pressure move or wind increase can trigger a fast feeding window. The same fast feeding window is on again off again in short duration as winds speed up and then slow back down. Here is another good read for you. http://www.learninghowtofish.com/pages/ ... eather.php Capt. Larry

Pre-opener musky trips?
mostlymuskies replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Zach, Dr. Dave and I decided that we would camp at Saltfork State Park in section G close to the boat launch and where the other muskie guys are camping. We plan to use sleeping bags on the boats floor with the cover over the boat.So if you come along with us you will need to bring along a sleeping bag. This puts us there close to the boat launch for early morning start and at the camp fire with the rest of the muskie nuts each night. We will cook using an electric frying pan, george foreman grill and perculator coffee pot. Costs for this trip will be low, most expensive part will be splitting the gasoline price.Confirm soon if your still going to make the trip, also if your going to Howard Wagners Spring Fling. Capt. Pre-opener musky trips?
mostlymuskies replied to NitroMusky's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
MuskieGuy and the others camping have a big cookout and party around the fire on Friday night,we will join them for awhile friday night, but will spend the night in a motel.Early April can still get very cold at night,to cold for my old bones to lay on the ground. If I want my bones to get cold and my body to lock up,I want to do it fishing, not laying on the ground. But if Dr. Dave wants to sleep in his boat while using a ceramic heater with power from my Honda Generator,I can do that. Zach, You will need to be at my house by 2:00 pm on Friday the 15th of April! Everything that looks like a Wiley,is a Copy of a Wiley. Wiley Lures have caught so many fish over the years that there are now more then a dozen other lure co's out there with copies. That just tells you how good they are! Capt. Larry -

Zach, The Little Richard does not work like the Wiley,it has a blunt nose so it works differently. They will work, but a Wiley will catch more fish.Vinces Spinner Shop has some Little Richards left over from the Shows I can get them the next batch of lures I pick up.I could have had them all cheap,I passed on them!
