  7. If everyone fishing in the Chautauqua Musky Cash Tourney could bring one Musky Lure for the Raffle Table we could bring in a few more dollars for the Bait Fish Fund. When you come to Mayville Lakeside Park for the Awards Presentation just lay your lure on the table with all the other musky goodies. Thanks, Capt. Larry
  8. Congrads Guy's on helping us reach this years Bait Fish Fund Goal of $6000.00! That was a great acomplishment to help the NY States Musky Stocking Program. We are now working on 2011 Bait Fish Fund Goal of $6000.00! It will be even harder then it was for this year to raise those funds. We had close to $2500.00 that we did not spend in 2009. Due to a late collection of eggs and very small growth in the musky fry due to the late start in the program it was decided to save those funds for 2010.So for 2011 Fund we start from the 1st dollar to save $6000.00,we will have to work much harder to get to the Fund Goal.So it is very important that we get Tourney Participation, make money at the Raffle table, not just for the June 19th Tourney but also the August 28th Tourney and a later Tourney in late September or early October. We will also need to have a monthy eBay Auction of lures to help us get the needed funds as well. If we can do this for three years in a row,4 to 6 years from now we will see our investment through increased numbers of muskies and have the Best Musky Fishery Chautauqua Lake & Inland NY Lakes have ever had! Capt. Larry

Best to use the PayPal Button on the main Tourney Thread above in the Sticky section, then I will mail the info / release form or email it if next week. 15. No one interested in eating the slow roasted Piggy and sucking down Beer? Capt. Larry
  16. Topwaters need to be free to move in their action, add something that floats on the line it will drag on the water and impeade the lure action.Maybe would not hurt a straight running Topraider or TopProp, but side to side moving and walk the dog moving topwaters could be restricted in their movement. Capt. Larry
  17. Zach,Use a 14" Fluorocarbon leader 80 lb test with a size #5 Stringease Stay-Lok Snap. You could tie directly to your main line or get a Aussie 250 lb Swivel(very small in diameter and light weight). Any floating device you add to the leader will work again'st the action as it hits the water when your working the Topwater.Always on Topwaters you have to feel the weight of the fish before you set the hook. You also need to set the rod off to the side to drive the hook point home,if you set straight up your pulling the Topwater toward you away from the fish. Capt. Larry
  18. Chad, See you there! There are Four Open Tickets Still! Capt. Larry

  22. We have 126 Entrants as of today, still 24 open spots! Everyone try to talk someone else in to joining us,lets make this the biggest muskie tourney ever to be on Chautauqua Lake and open some media eyes! Capt. Larry
  23. I need you to make a phone call today! I want to thank everyone for stepping up to become active in this "fight". This is not only a local issue, it is basin wide, state and federal. New York State has jurisdiction over the lands under the lake. It is going to take some strong action to get our message to the County and eventually up to our State legislators. Our efforts need to be first focused on the County. Once we get the resolution we want then we move up the ladder to our state politicians. We are lucky it is an election year the politicians will be willing to listen, if they want our votes. Wed., June 9th at 11am at the Legislature Chambers - 92 Franklin Street, 4th floor there will be an informational meeting about the proposed off shore wind project, (Great Lakes Offshore Wind, GLOW), which is open to the public. There will be a wind developer presenting Bluewater Winds LLC. They will be explaining the construction of the towers etc. Right now the New York Power Authority will not be presenting but that could change, I am sure they will be in the room. I will be presenting the opposition view. The only way we can get a resolution from the County is to exert some pressure, letters or emails work great we need to write frequently on this issue. I figure we should target Dan Kozub he is chairman of the Energy and Environment committee and a candidate for Jack Quinn's Assembly seat. Also we should contact Barbara Miller-Williams, Chairperson for the County Legislature. Here is the plan! The phone-a-thon for June 8th to (Dan Kozub, 822-0462 and Barbara Miller-Williams, 842-0490).... I would like to get a hundred callers or more on June 8th... so our callers do not get busy signals and our message gets through.... callers with last names beginning with A through F call from 9:00 AM to 10:30AM... last names from G to L 10:30 to noon...M to R call from noon to 1:30PM .. S to Z call from 1:30PM to 3:00 PM Obviously if you can't call during a specified time by all means make a call anywhere from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM... A call to a legislator will only take about two minutes. The phone-a-thon is the day prior to the informational meeting. It is to emphasize our position and that we have a large contingent of voters who oppose a wind farm in Lake Erie. The message that we are making is... "that the proposed Great Lakes Offshore Wind project (GLOW) has no benefit for residents of Erie County; it does not reduce CO2 emissions, it is going to be costly for the taxpayers in Erie County, the potential risks for the environment are too great, the impact on migrating birds will be too severe, unsightly towers located in the lake will negatively impact waterfront property values, navigation restrictions will negatively impact recreational boating and fishing and discourage tourism. Wind energy is not green; it is unpredictable and variable; our technological society requires delivery of energy 24/7, wind energy producers can not promise delivery of their product and as a business it is unsustainable without the taxpayer's financial support. WE WANT THE ERIE COUNTY LEGISLATURE TO PASS A RESOLUTION OPPOSING ANY OFFSHORE WIND PROJECT IN LAKE ERIE." Call Dan Kozub and Barbara Miller-Williams June 8th! Dan Kozub, 822-0462 Erie County Legislator and Chairman of the Energy and Environment Committee. Barbara Miller-Williams, 842-0490... Erie County Legislator and Chairperson of the Legislature Thank you, Thomas Marks NY Director Great Lakes Sport Fishing Council 716-997-6919
  24. Bob, I hope to see you there, great fun, good food, nice raffle table, not to mention fish stories! Capt. Larry
  25. Across the Thousand Islands bridge to Wellesley Island from Alexandria Bay, anglers will find a number of popular places for northern pike in the month of August. I would start at Eel Bay and Lake of the Isles they are two public areas where anglers can go from the boat launch straight to decent fishing conditions. These waters are shallow with a sandy bottom and hold good quantities of perch and sunfish, which lure pike to the areas.Years ago we did best there tossing Johnson Silver Minnow Spoons and small bass size spinnerbaits in grey skirt with copper blades. If your not finding action in the flats work weedbed edges close to drop offs using stickbaits ,firetiger size 13 floating rapala is a good go to bait! Those same 25 ft structure area's are best trolled at night with Depthraider Jtd in Sucker color for Muskies! Capt. Larry D. Jones http://www.mostlymuskies.com
