  1. Had a group of 10 does come in and decided to get my doe hunting done for the season!
  2. Starting to find a couple on permission properties! All night time so far thou on the matures! Got one really cool looking one if he gets killed I will share some pics! Put up a stand n camera on a new piece n got a solid 140s 8 on camera just after dark last night! He may be killable soon!! 🤞
  3. Sat a doe spot yesterday morning one saw one doe n fawn! Had a few bucks in the food plots on camera. Afternoon looked good ended up talking to a landowner for an hour and a half so basically only watched a field with binos for last 10 minutes n nothing popped out there! Quiet so far this morning.
  4. Well have missed the chat so far! Still have some work to do but got a good bit done today. Some cameras out. But I got to admit at this point I have my work cut out for me!! Biggest buck I have on camera is a mid 30s 9 point. Need to find me a big one on one of my permission pieces that I don't have cameras that gets me excited!
  5. Yupp an AR/10. And ya I had that happen to me in Maine once bear hunting and I couldn't even get the botl to close without literally slamming it open and closed... And trying to do it slow or quietly only caused a double feed... I loved hunting my AR-15. So thought I would like the 10 with the bigger round would be better... But it's way too loud to load. And with ny stupid requirements with the no mag release and having to flip it open it is actually a pain to load and un load. It shot great on target but in the woods it just isn't a good gun for here, too loud to load and unload and the unloading is annoying. I won a really nice franchi 6 5 bolt gun so took the scope off the AR and put it on the bolt gun and got it sighted in.
  6. Ya that's for sure!! And ussualy I do everything and then some to find an animal I have shot that's the part that hurts the most! So definitely take the wins with the losses and learn from them!
  7. 34 bayrats most have never been used. 250$ obo
  8. For those who have followed this page thru the season. I made a post of a buck that I had an opportunity to shoot during gun and it didn't fire, I did get a quick shot off after reloading but he was moving and I had one opportunity as he turned broadside. I had looked and didnt find any evidence of a hit at all. Followed a few different trails he could of taken with no signs of anything. Well... We went shed hunting yesterday and don't we find that buck not 50yds deeper into the thicket.. 😟😟 def a ****ty feeling, but without any sign of a hit at all and it running into a pretty heavy thicket. I thought for sure I just led him too much or something. It was the first deer I have shot with a 6.5 and definitely have mixed emotions now .. I've heard stories of no blood but always was like no.. all gun deer I have shot have bled someway or another. So anyway Deffinitely have to do some bullet testing to get proper expansion! if I do decide to shoot more deer with that cartridge. Well he wasn't a bad deer at all scored him at 129. Good beams good mass just shorter tines. this is the first deer I have lost in a long time, wish I had something to tell me it was a hit 😞
  9. Sweet great buck for sure!
  10. Awesome buck what did he score?!
  11. Pretty cool dead head I found. We only had a few pictures of him each season, but he didn't look that big in any of the pictures we had! Scored him just over 150! Shame to find for sure, but glad to pick him up before any rodents ate on him!
  12. Got some good news on the camera today my main target but showed back up! He's been MIA since Nov 28th! Can't wait to see what he looks like next year!
  13. haha couple buddies are already finding a few sheds!
  14. I I killed a tree today too 🤣
  15. You got to know the drop 1st! Haha And ya my cousin and uncle do a lot of competition shooting out to 1000yds all summer I ask them drop info and I just get an answer in mils 🤣. and so I'm gunna go with them and play with one of mine and see how it does!
  16. Decided to test my #s I shot during the summer on the drop of my savage 220 today. These were the real life #s out of my gun with accutips. 200 yds with 3" about 13" drop 250yds. 3". 20" drop 200yds with 2 3/4. 20" drop 250yds with 2 3/4 30" drop I took a shot at a coyote at 250yds today. (He was quartering away) Knowing it was going to drop 20" aimed high about a foot over the top of his head height figuring head is maybe 6", so I let er eat and smoked him.
  17. Wow that's scary for sure!
  18. Yupp... It's an a/r 10. So u really have to chuck it shut which I have been trying to do when I use it.. but got screwed today for sure. Got to break out the bolt action for my rifle spots for rest of the season. So frustrating 😞
  19. Well, had a nice broadside shot at 70yds on the buck I saw yesterday coming out of the thicket he tried to go into last night.haf a few does pass thru earlier and was giving it till 930 then I said screw it staying till 10 and he came out at 935... 😡. Gun definitely didn't chamber correctly.. if I was a quieter i would throw in the towel now.
  20. Can't catch a lucky break here during gun! Passed up a.few more small bucks, some ffawns and does. Did pass up a decent buck Tuesday morning (I'll add pic). And tonight almost got a crack at a good one but he came out on this little trail I was watching literally the same minute I got settled into my spot on the ground and he came out 30yds from me 😡😡. I needed 1 more minute! And I would of been set n ready! Ughh the chase continues.
  21. O man!! Good to know he's still alive thou!
  22. Ya for sure, at least "the week" is over and hopefully deer start doing deer stuff again soon!
