Flasher/Files

I use Spro ball bearing swivels exclusively. -
When attaching your fly to the flasher, do you guys use a swivel or do you direct tie them to the flasher? Thanks

Really, just curious what did you get? -
Has the fishing picked up at all the past week? Not too many people have posted reports since the pro-ams. I'm thinking I'll be coming up on the 26th.

If your going for a full day im sure you'll may get into something more than just some Mahi Mahi but they can get pretty big and are excellent eating. Pretty much all salt water fish i've caught have been scrapers. If you can get down into the golf steam or by the keys i think the Ahi and Marlin fishing is good, Wahoo as well. Hopefully your not out catching Spanish and King Mackeral all day. Good luck. Deep sea fishing is AWESOME!! If you do get into some Ahi you'll love it. Fresh Ahi is the best meat I've ever had. Make sure you try some as your cutting it up. Phenomenal! Make sure you give a report with some pics. I'd like to see how you guys did.

Im new to lake ontario as some of you know. When people refer to the "Bar" what area is it exactly? I know its around the red can but can someone describe the actual bar better? Thanks

The cannon rod holders look like they are the easiest to adjust. Thats why I was really considering the cannon system. I too would like everything to match. Are the tracks all the same where you can interchange the different make rod holders?

I was thinking of changing up my rod holders and going to a track system. The cannon system looks really nice. I also see that Berts are pretty popular. Are there any advantages that any of the track systems have over the other? Thanks for any input!

Just to let you guys know, the lake is going to be awful this year. I was on it last night and the weeds a ridiculous already. The past two years haven't been so bad but this year is looking ugly. It's been a while since i've read this tread and i just skimmed through the last few posts, Is there 150 people in this tournament now? How is the prize structure now, still the same?

Well I made the trip yesterday. Wow, what a difference from two weekends ago. This is only my second time fishing salmon and on Lake O. It was tough yesterday. I guess I'll wait to hear some good reports before i make the trip again. All we caught was 1 small Coho. But hey that's how fishing goes. I had a feeling we wouldn't have much luck from reading the reports. From the conversations over the radio and talking to other boats at the launch, no one really did anything great. On the brighter side of things, I got to enjoy myself out on the boat with two good buddies. It was awesome out yesterday. Also explored some new water, so I'm learning the Wilson/ Fort Niagara area a little more. Cant wait for those Kings to come back!!!

How far back should i tie the fly from the flasher? Should i use fluoro leader material?

Z Board vs. Offshore Tackle
Chautauqua Tony replied to Chautauqua Tony's topic in Tackle and Techniques
I ordered the "brother" . Figured it would be good for musky crank baits and could be used for walleye as well. -
It's been a couple years since i pulled out my dipseys, but if i remember correctly they have a swivel on both ends. Do you guys put another swivel on the end of the leader when running spoons or flasher/flies? Also wondering if i should use a fluoro leader off my downrigger rods for spoons and flasher/flies as well or can i just use the mono thats on my rods directly to the lure?
