  1. I feel fortunate that my wife enjoys spending time with me in the outdoors. She is pretty much a fair weather hunter and fisherwoman but loves to see the world come alive and turn on Marlin to identify bird calls. She also happily enjoys eating the fish and game we harvest and we have a large garden. Nice that she can relate to my passion!
  2. Lots of time to fish and I have lots of perch in the freezer already. Feel fortunate that my wife enjoys being in the blind with me.
  3. My wife and I hunted a popup blind this morning. 2 Tom’s and 3 hens appeared out 300 yards. Came our way to about 175 yards. while watching them 2 hens came by at 5 yards followed by a nice tom. 9” beard.
  4. I ‘m missing out on some brown fishing but got to spend some time with my Son in Law in Costa Rica. And got a rooster fish.
  5. Fishing 1/2 day at Manuel Antonio and staying 3 days. Also spending 2 days in jungle and two days near volcano. Family vacation of 6 adults with 2 grandsons.
  6. I drove up on a Tom and hen mating the other day while setting up a few popup blinds. The big groups appear to have broken up.
  7. I’m headed for a family trip to Costa Rica. As soon as weather warms up and water temperatures rise it should be great.
  8. Fished solo today and caught a pail full. Couldn’t llcate the big ones today.
  9. I haven’t caught one that big since college fishing Seneca in the early 70’s
  10. Hit the river today and started out slow but picked up latter in the afternoon. Finally caught an honest 14”.
  11. I fished Goose Bay yesterday and bite was slow. Just enough for a meal.
  12. I haven’t been to Eel Bay but many launches are now open. Too early for perch to be in Eel Bay shallows as they are still out in deep water. Might be able to get some in Goose Bay or Chippewa. Possibly also at Chaumont or Henderson.
  13. Just wondering what speed you are running that is compatible with both stick baits and spoons? I generally run 1.8- 2.4 mph on gps but know others run faster.
