  1. Also out around Bull Shoal with deep divers off boards and a good chance for big pike also. Out from where the Black River flows into the bay there are a series of white buoys and I've caught them there on spinners and crawlers in about 7 fow.
  2. Great photos. Can't wait to hear thew stories.
  3. I fish the St Lawrence at night on a regular basis and often use a spotlight to shine up the eyes and find location. The bright spotllight definately causes the fish to move off nto deeper water. I do use a headlight when fishing and as long as you're not shinning it into the water it has little affect. May want to try a red colored light if you're really worried. t's amazing how shallow fish will got night.
  4. I boughyt a second one as I liked the first on so well.
  5. Unbelivable perch in Seneca. Haven't seen perch like that in nearly 40 years since I went to school at Hobart. Most places a 13" is a pig.
  6. I talked to a friend that fished there Saturday and said they had a decent day. Others fished Monday and things were slow.
  7. Ryan, Sounds like a great day. We hit the browns well on Friday and also got a laker and a whitefish. Nice to see some Kings showing up. I'm out of town next week but will be headed out when I return. There's been a good perch bite on at Kring's.
  8. On Wednesday I had 46 lbs. of large (over 8.5 inches up to 13") fishing by myself. I only had 10.5 lbs. of medium and 2 lbs. of small. The only smalls I keep are gut hooked. They are paying $1.75 for large and $1.50 for medium. That's a good ratio of large perch. I use the largest fathead minnows I can get.
  9. Not sure as I crushed them on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mostly nice fish. Where exactly were you fishing? Hard to believe they are gone after what I caught this week but it can happen. I fished Mexico for browns yesterday and we went 20 for 23!
  10. Mine are not I fish or hunt most every day!

  13. glad to hear they are still on. I'm waiting for the wind to die down latter this week.
  14. Been open for three weeks.
  15. I fished the Kring's Point/ Goose Bay area the last two days and the fishing has been good. Many 11-12' fish in the mix. Some guys commercial fishing and filling coolers as there is no limit in Jefferson County. Minnows are the ticket. Many of the females are spawned out so things may soon come to an end.
  16. Too bad you had a short day. Great that your taking out a youngster.
  17. Don't see why it wouldn't be as I believe you can have up to 15 points per line.
  18. Some nice browns nice looking. We've been getting mostly smaller fish.but they are in the area.
  19. It was very different from Saturday when you couldn't keep them off the hook. But we worked at it and scratched out a decent day.
  20. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Longlegg ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4/3 Time on Water: 7-3:30 Weather/Temp: sunny to cloudy Wind Speed/Direction: NW to SW 12 Waves: 3' rollers Surface Temp: 43 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 17 Total Boated:13 Species Breakdown:browns Hot Lure: spoons and slicks Trolling Speed: 1.7-2.7 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 6-25 Lure Depth: 3-16 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS I'm still regaining my equilibrium from a bumpy day on the water. Steve caught the green queasies and did some chumming over the side but stuck with it all day. It was a slow pick throughout the day with small bunches of scattered fish. We covered a lot of real estate throughout the day. ====================
  21. Sounds like we share the same passions. Since I retired from teaching I have been spending most days hunting and fishing or traveling . Recently returned from a photo safari in Tanzania and spent 20 days in an RV touring and fishing in Alaska with another couple in September. I feel like I'm living a dream! Perhaps we can get together and share our interests sometime.
