Still not seeing any numbers in the fields I have always seen them or hunted and also not on ponds they always have been on. Also not seeing many birds moving off the river or ponds. Seems very different this year in my area. Took a ride up around Hammond and checked out Chippewa and Goose Bay and didn't see much there this afternoon. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

I haven't found birds to hunt yet. Seems like resident numbers here have dropped. My brother in laws farm has always held good numbers of geese and there were over 300 there the week before season but they have disappeared. Hopefully the cooler rainy weather will get some birds moving. If not perhaps we will get some movement the last week of season as often happens. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

I agree with Roughrider IV. Deep water shoals 30-50fow running boards and deep-divers. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

JSfish, Fisheries told me that since walleyes spawn in April the gobies haven't moved into the shallows thus there spawning isn't affected. Since bass spawn much later in the year the gobies have moved into the shallows by then and thus are easy prey. I certainly agree with you on bass number and size, much different than in 20-40 years ago. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

Was able to get my two grandkids on a dock to catch sunfish. Four year old caught about 15 and two year old about 8. Kept them interested about 10 minutes but they had fun and did well. I kept and cleaned the 5 largest and fried them up with some walleye. The kids love grampy's fish! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Love the video. Hope the mate got a great tip as he earned it! Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United -
Everyone knows the bass are bigger with rise in the gobie population but having fished the river since the mid seventies I know the numbers in the SLR have dropped significantly and the fisheries biologists concur. Since tournament fishing is a size not a numbers game their totals weights are still good and likely better than pre gobie time. Just delay the opener a week or two to help protect this great resource for future generations. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
