  1. Fishing has been challenging with the high water. Current is super strong which evidently changes location of fish, perhaps lure presentation and boat control.Still picking fish up here and there but not with any degree of consistency and no big numbers. On the other hand I've only been skunked once so far. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Needed a fish fix so took a quick solo trip this morning. Grandsons were very interested in my catch when I returned. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  5. New law was signed. You can now fish in Canada without checking in. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  6. Had a nice morning on the river. Some quality fish and we released about the same number. Deep water had fish in some different locations but once we found them it was good. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Thought someone would call me out. The two biggest on top right are bluegills, the rest are pumpkinseeds. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  8. Don't believe you can have open container. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  9. I haven't fished the Canadian side in that area but they catch them at Chippewa Point and I've caught them just up river from there on the US side near the channel. LllI'm sure they are present throughout the river. As EsoxAC3 said lots of ways to catch them but finding them, controlling the boat in the current and fishing at night are all keys. I'd concentrate on 25-50 fow on shelfs along drop offs with current. Water around Grenadier isn't as deep and has less current than areas I tend to fish. I like to troll so I can cover more water and hit more spots to locate active fish. I generally am fishing close to the US shipping channel. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  10. Looks like you're into a good pattern. River has been a little slower but still able to gins out some nice fish. High water has the current really flowing. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  11. We saw them the other night but fortunately they didn't check us. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  14. If you know where they are located they can be caught on jigs and jigging spoons but you can't cover as much territory as trolling. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  15. Last year was the best fishing early in the season that I have witnessed. Generally I find that things pick up and become much more predictable latter in June and in July. With high water and colder water temperatures things should only improve. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  16. We were talking about that too. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United

  20. One walleye had 10 gobbies and a perch I it's stomach. I actually thought it had eaten a rock bass until I cut it open. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Very nice. They are fun to catch on fresh water gear. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  22. I know it does work. Lots of information on rigging if you look up Detroit River hand lining. Those reels aren't cheep. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  23. Captain Tom Ewing is a great guy and knowledgeable of the area. He's been at it a long time and can likely put you on both the warm and cold water species you mentioned depending on weather and water temperatures. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  24. I think as long as you stick to the hook point restictions per line you are ok. I have a friend from Ottawa that picked a couple up last year after fishing with me and uses them successfully on the river. They use Victrola rigs, etc. on the Finger Lakes so don't see any issues. Different than jug fishing and trot lines which I don't believe are legal. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
  25. I have a 18' Lund Alaskan. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United
