  1. Avon - Skin so Soft works great.
  2. Anyone have 2 or 3 20 lb weights they are looking to get rid of? Looking for a Torpedo or Shark...not a ball. Wayne
  3. The video is awesome. I love the 4 minute mark when the Steelhead hits and goes jumping like crazy at the back of the boat. I must say...Theresa has perfect technique for battling the fish. People should watch and learn from that. I tell people that you fight the fish with the rod and store the line with the reel. She does exactly that. Hope to see you guys this weekend. I probably won't be up until Saturday night though.
  4. Good job guys. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  7. Ray, I'm in Sodus Marina (in Between Arney's and Katlynn). Stop by and see me or come up and go fishing with me anytime.
  8. Kyle, We were catching most eveything off downriggers. Mountain Dew spin doctor with Atomik live series fly. Also running a 3 blade beer can setup with a medium sized spin n glo.Pretty much running the riggers on the bottom. Even the steelie came in on the Mountian Dew SD with the rigger down 135 or so. No. I could have used some grilled Brats though! I'm sure we'll see you soon. I was going to try to fish the Atomik this weekend but just couldn't pull it together. We are in for the Oswego and Sodus Pro am...and the Atomik Invitational too.
  9. Got out of port at 3 o'clock with a couple of new comers to Lake O fishing. Luckily had a couple of veterans with me to help set up, untangle lines etc. I hate taking first timers out because it always seems like some extra pressure to catch fish. Trolled around for about 2 hours and didn't have a single rod even wiggle. Was marking some fish here and there between 120 and 160 FOW. Worked our way west toward Hughes and the screens kept getting better and better. Finally the 125 deep downrigger fires. The fish bull dogged down we all thought it did not trip the release. I even grabbed the rod and was sure the release was not tripped. Anyway, a minute or so later we realized it was tripped and it was just a slob fih bull dogging down to the bottom. 10 minutes or so later we landed our first of thee day which was a 14 lb lake trout. We trolled a little further and had another Laker on. I decided to turn around and hit the same waypoints again. Next shot was a Triple Header! Landed all 3 fish and one of them turned out to be a nice little 7.5 lb Steelhead. The rest were lakers. Turned again on the same waypoints and doubled up. More lakers. All in all we went 7 for 11 with the 8 Lb steel head and 4 of the Lake Trout over 10 lbs. Making a mess carving of the fish! Cruising in with a nice sunset at our Backs. Man does this 11 Meter ride nice!
  10. They had some obligations last weekend and this weekend I think. Plus the fishing out of Sodus Point has been pretty weak.
  11. Pretty much the same for me out of Sodus. Slow, slow, slow. Managed a couple lakers and a steelhead but not much else going on.
  12. Good job keeping your cool. I heard the Pan Pan Pan sent out by the Coast Guard. They must transmit it Lake wide because I heard it in Sodus Point. I was in a sinking boat two years ago because the Captain had paper towels clogging up his bilge pump and water was coming in through the hole where the electric and cables run through the transom for the outboard Motor. The water was about 2 feet deep in the cuddy and starting to come on to the back of the deck when we finally noticed - 3 miles off shore in 50 degree water. Pretty nerve racking but not nearly as scary as your ordeal.
  13. That is a great setup right there.
  14. I must admit that I chuckled a little bit when I read this. You remind me of my Uncle that I fish with. He seems to question the technique that a 1000 other fishermen are using successfully. Yet he too is new at the trolling game. This technique was not invented yesterday. My experience is that a flasher fly combo seems to work better when it is down deep and/or water is a little murky. My guess is that it is less successful when fished shallow in crystal clear water. I usually get many more hits on my diver rods than mu downrigger rods. That may be just me though...
  15. I just installed 3 of the Scotty 2116 HP. They are nothing short of awesome. I believe in buying locally to support local business but I had to go on-line to order mine because the savings was too significant. $690.48 each with free freight and no sales tax up front. http://boemarine.ecomm-search.com/search?q=scotty+2116&x=25&y=2
