  1. Just wondering if anyone has tried streamers for Browns in the spring
  2. Well made a trip today to bass pro to look. After talking to the fellow there I ended up going with the garmin. The price seemed rite and he had nothing but good to say about em. I hope I like it!!!

  5. I saw that bass pro carries cast iron weights. Any disadvantage over lead. They where a little cheaper
  6. I have an older lowrance gps model now. The unit does everything that I need, but it kept loosing signal last summer, then the Navianics chip stopped working. So I am thinking of going with the lowrance . Do you guys use the DI a lot?
  7. I am thinking of buying a new sonar. I am up in the air between the hummingbird helix7 or the lowrance hook. I am going to get the sonar,gps, and di. Any info and feedback please? I am leaning toward the lowrance because you can buy it with the Navionics chip together, but The Hummingbird looks like a nice unit also

  10. I have one of the glt's in med light I think. It makes a nice rod for trout and walleye. I think it would be kind of light with a big king on. I also believe would be awful light for paddles.

  13. Thanks guys. We have drove 4 hrs many of times with my buddies 19 footer to mexico bay just to see the waves coming over the wall. I am no stranger to the conditions and how fast they can change!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Guys I spent last year getting my boat all setup for fishing. I have finally got it close to what I want. I was wondering if you guys think it would be able to handle Ontario for spring browns. It is a smokercraft angler 16ft. I had it on some rough water last year and it seemed to handle it ok, but I have been out on Ontario many of days and know the gig!!!
  15. Ran the board today with 3 ounce weight. Ran well but no hits. Actually only took one small mouth on lead. It was an 18 incher thou.
  16. I bought one walleye board tonite and made some 2 and 3 ounce snap weights tonight to run tomorrow. Can't wait to give them a try. I want to thank all the members on here that showed how to make snap weights. I used alligator clips , shrink tube, and some bottom bouncers I had kicking around.

  19. I am going to buy some boards to run snap weights on. Are the walleye boards enough or should I go with the tx 44's?
  20. Anybody ever have there chip stop displaying maps all of a sudden? It beeps when I put it in and I have gone through the map menu but can't get it to work again.
  21. Ism looking for a cottage or motel near owaco. Preferably a cottage with dock space. Me and the family are looking for a weekend getaway.
  22. I think i am going to try an okuma. I actually found them for a little cheaper than the eagle claw,and they seem to have better action..
