Hopefully tomorrow and a better wind the fish will turn on.Im going to try my ole trick of a dodger squid with a silver horde chasing it.I run the didger not more thwn 8 ft behind the ball and use a cheater with a long lead about 3 ft above.Usally best thing to do is locate a group a fish and then workthem one by one. Many days i would pick up a fish every pass and resetup and work my way back to the loran waypoint. Another good trick is school up some smaller j plugs and .I often would run up to six rods. Another is to use a old flasher about 4 to 6 ft inline with a spoon The fish (salmon)are more plecntiful than last year.Today that NE wind kept the fishing down like it always does. Good luck tomorrow john -

Hi Pultneyville Yacht club has a web cam and a very reliable weather chart.Ive used it many years and found to be the most reliable. The port and Hughes Marina are right on the lake but very protected from storms minutes from our best fishing. The holiday weekend looks great for our derby.Hope all get plenty of Salmon. John

Ive noticed over the years salmon move around alot and its very common to find them gone overnight.yesterday our area was loaded with fish today very few probabaly due to temperature flucuations. So few are fishing now so its takes alot of time to find them. The lake is stil far better than most other big ponds.lol

these fish travel with bait.Ive found them shallow and in deep water half way down with bait. Its going to be a good year but you have to scout them out.Small sinkos black have been very productive except you usally lose them after a fish(cost)

Same here east of sodus. One charter had i hit all day.It was awhopper thought 32 lbs,lol Bass though are plentiful late .They hit so hard there out jumping before you can get the rod up.Warm water does tire them easier so the fight is short compared to cooler water -
I gave up on getting a new screen gadget. My old Garmin 178c is probably better than many new.I purchased a newer 431s and while simplier to use unreliable probably cause garmin went to mainline China. The 178c was made in free china taiwan I visited there many years ago on R&R while in Vietnam. My sons have HD works great on shallow for structure like pipelines.

Fished morning trip with Captain Dick.Lots of fish around we went 5 for 8 mostly small kings a nice coho .Didnt bother with the lakers though we spoted many..Tons of bait and fish thermocline was streched out so fishing was slow for large kings though we marked many.best action was about 105 to 115 ,west of our port.Small MK took many fishas a slider.green and silver was better later before the storm We marked many fish today with good bait. There should be little concern of lack of fish.lack of boats on the water compared to former years is more common.lol Went out late for bass ,fish are deep 28 to 40 ft have a good fishing weekend john -
I like the idea of a safety line I use cannon ratchet metal rod holders so no worry of the holder breaking like the plastic I have on riggers. One idea if you drop something make a way point on your gps and might get lucky snagging it later.Afriend of mine droped his temp probe and had a diver go back and found it for him using the waypoint.great fishing report thanks
