  1. nice pike,awesome
  2. we got about 300 deeksand 2 dozen flyers now but it takes a lot.Unless you catch the late birds which are younger and easier to get,it was always easier to get them to decoy if the big flocks weren't around, jumping them does get birds but it also drives birds away from areas.next march we will give a another try hopefully.Sometimes they just drop in so fast ,then they hop all over ,lol
  3. my son got a immature male eider 2 years ago at sodus
  4. My two sons and me had a great hunt on New Years eve.My oldest son started going with me when he was 3,lol.My second oldest started going with us when he 4.They are both die hard duck hunters along with tournament bass fisherman,Well they grew out of the trolling and I can see why as it can be alittle slow compared to jigging for our monster largemouth. For those. with young children there is no better place than a good fishing hole well made a duck blind to.
  5. nice pictures reminds me of old hunts with my sons which are allllll grown up but best of all still love duck hunting, hope yours will to.
  6. great pics.last year was super.for us

    Sodus Bay

Sunday afternoon I saw quite a few small boats out that maybe shouldn't have been due to the conditions You see two guys in a 12 ft with 2 footers and 25 mile gusts and you wonder.WE had our 19 ft, and it was being tossed around pretty good. perch fishing is great but I wouldn't take any chances of getting wet.

  15. Hi ,Im interested in this motor. Is it a 4 stroke and do you know how many hours on it.You also mentioned a price change.let me know thanks. john
  16. Pulled my boat this weeka after we had that aweful blow. The wind and waves came into our harbor and broke a line and tossed the boat onto my dock.Well I got there just in time and got it straightened out ,no damage. A note of appreciation.A Wayne County Sheriff came by and said he would check on the boats later so I could go home. Fall can be a tricky time with weather.Better be safe than sorry. Hopefully next year will bring good summer west winds and lots of kings early. Onto the ducks and perch .
  17. There is no greater pain than losing a child. We lost our son also 9 years ago. A friend told me afterwards that they are still with us though resting.Waiting for us to follow and be with them. That has helped a lot over the years. My sincere condolences.

    Lake O

talked to local dive boat captain today.he reported seeing many schools of smallies 18-20 ft of water from pultneyville to bear through the summer .More than in the 2013 season.
  19. late season on the fingerlakes has been awesome.Lots of hunters and millions of ducks and geese.Ive given up sodus or the big o due to poor conditions iceing and lack of access
  20. was told by a biologists same thing and the cormerants like them because they were easy for them to catch
  21. Glad to see you back les.How was your trip? The smallies realy turned on lately surprised so few are out fishing for them. But the lake is way down again wondering whether Ill need to have it pulled to save on the truck
  22. Have good news.these birds now feast mostly on gobies.we have a bunch here now could use another squadron for all those ugly gobies biolgist reportsgobies top diet now , no wonder thebass maysoon rebound

    Lake O

went out last night and also this morning. The wind was pretty strong which made it hard to anchor having a big boat can be a disadvantage especially with bass.I did mark alot of bass from 40 to 15 ft..Well from what I hear from others bass has been a lot better this year than last.I ended catching two nice rainbows on green glow j plugs of all lures. The fish I have caught were very healthy and "strong".I hope they have a good winter and come back strong next year. Ill have to give the worm harnesses a shot next year. Hope next year I resolve my back injury which has cut a lot of my fishing ambition this year. Fishing can be hard on your back.Especially if you spend a lot of time sitting .next year Im going to a taller captains chair with lumbar supports. No more reaching to set riggers either. And don't forget being careful lifting those big fish aboard, lol
