  1. been having good luck on watermelon paddles with mirage atomic flies.leads about 34 in and speed about two.lead from ball about ten feet. longer if rought.Ive caught most of our fish on this since last week.I have caught all trout except lakers and even a atlantic today.
  2. water temp was better west of sodus,50 degress 88 down over 120,its even better today.
  3. use wire with problems with fleas.wire cuts them off
  4. started west of sodus temp 50 degrees at 85 ft took some nice kings at 270 85 down on watermelon paddles.Kings are getting dark so darker paddles work betterset them up 85 down and ten feet back with a 36 in leader on the fly trooled about 2 good luck, some bits and dipseys using spoons.
  5. great trip,i was out also solo today.i took three majors and some lakers and small kings.Majors came on the riggers with watermelon paddles and rainbow flies about 3 ft. backThe paddles were set about ten feet from the ball and ran slow about two mph.The last one was huge close to thirty and took almost a hour to boat.I did not take any long runs just buldoged behind the boat.
  6. time for suttons they work great slow when the temp is deep.
  7. I hear black dipseys have been doing well this year.most of my fish came on black dipseys with spoons alone (magnum diamond kings.
  8. to rough even to check it out today.I pridected this to happen with that nw wind 30 plus gusts .
  9. very good morning same place i was last night, lakers and browns along with a few kings.I missed the kings fighting fish.I had all rods go off together .So I fished one downrigger.Anything with pink or glow was hot.White was better than silver back.small spoons Lead was about 12 ft from the ball. michagoan stingersfish hit high forty feet over the bottom and out of temp.Trolled around 2.0 to 2.6.glad i got up and ignored the scw.it was great till about 11.00 am
  10. that was me i fished about 3 miles directly nw of port.Dont let getting skunked bother you even with quests. All I have to do is "remember"my old spoon box history".Besides it was pleasant wasnt it .nice sunset somewhat, huh.
  11. i fished east of you out in front of bear creek took many browns and a slob laker,no kings.Monkey puke was hot also gator Fish were high although temp was deep.49 at 120 ft.a dew chances at the dipseys but droped fish.saw only two boats out all day.tuesday and wedsday are supose to get rough, more warm water comming in.
  12. I to finish solo and know a good day is awesome.fish west of you were good a 200 but moved to 400.some still in close but temp is 50 at 120.thursday it was 85 for 50.at harbor now going out in a bit.sau how is smallmouth by you.? Us ssolo guys should meet, now many can take a lonh day
  13. hey nick, glad you had a good day. Yesterday was very good for me. I started using my old diamond kings with some glow and green added .i probably could have filled the cooler also but three was all I could take. The fish came from about the same depth.Im going tomorrow afternoon ,short on a crew and every day early is tough.I also have a old setup with dodger fly and silver horde that is deadly on kings over dee[p water.tomorrow later Ill put them out.Only need two rods to fill a cooler.
  14. went out solo and fished 200-250= Got my first strike puting downa rigger.ten pound king on glow white ms green dots.later I was 6 for nine hits.five kings from 20s to tens.one steelie on a mag diamond king glow tape on black dipsey 200 ft. of wire out.All fish came from glow white with green or red dots or tape.It would have been alot more if I could put more rods down with help. One good thing alot of people cooperated on the radio and more caught fish. Share info with your fellow fisherman and the sport will not die. The more people talk on the radio the more fisherman will be out.In the old days everyone helped each other and few relied on the cell phone.
  15. Nice fish.hey how about stripers in the Big O.They put them in reservoirs why not the great lakes.Maybe they will get the goobys.
  16. went out this morning out of pultneyville but stayed in close for bass. There were a few boats (two)I could see but noone else in sight.Where is the pack ,It's king time
  17. Hi I have had good luck out of pultineyville with white with green dots michagan stingers silver back also diamond king lures same color.Did you get any info on the big guys.??
  18. remember last year when the water was so warm out deep. The thermocline was down at least 150. Hope not for this year also.
  19. Nice fish ,excellent pics.where did you get them.It was to rough here on the lake sunday.
  20. For guys replacing boat floors I would recommend a synthetic floor or presure treated plywood..Coosa is one but there are others cheaper. One thing is you dont need to fiberglass or cover the floor and it will never rot.My 19gls has some weak areas around the seats but ok for now.Keeping a boat dry while out of the water will extend it's life indefinely along with motor preventive maintence.I still have my old out boards and they still run like new.A 1988 120 evinrude,9.9 1981 evinrude and a 1978 9.9 johnson.
  21. pheasant hunting is good if you pay.Whispering Pines has a good deal.i joined there for this fall.We have corrmants here in pultneyville.Maybe a dozen or so and there small. Now my heron that comes to our pond is a huge bird.I bet it's four feet tall and could swallow a 2 lb bass with ease.Im glad you had good luck at erie with smallmouth. It seems there are many small bass now surviving the goby.Time will tell. Good fishing .Also remeber it's not catching.LOL
  22. wonder why the erie perch go so deep. Our perch in ontario stay shallow.Caught a bunch of 13 in.plus ten feet ot water last week. id like to go for erie walleye this year .i have a good boat set up but never went and would be better with a someone experienced more in walleye. Thirty plus years trout and salmon on Ontario.
  23. the killer rig for us was a small dodger usaly glow with specs and a fly or squid close to the ball about four feet.We put on a cheater about two fhree feet above with a small horde following the fly or squid. This worked very well on deep kings and we also ran it between 1.5 and 2.0 on our kingfish.
  24. used are cheap if you can find one, make sure they fit your boat
  25. temperature off pultneyville was 52 degrees at 110 ft.many good marks deep.
