  1. hughes area looked good. i blew my shoulder sunday so i won't be fishing for awhile.glad you found them, kings are there also
  2. Hi, I have a 26 ft. searay that Im planning on putting a autopilot on it. Sitex has a unit that attachs to the mechanical steering on the mercruser,p110 Any of you had experience with sitx autopilot would be welcome I also put a auxilary 9.9 outboard on it. I adapted a aluminum plate so I could get to run deep enough to work.I took it and it trolls good with the wind. thanks
  3. 150 was good for me also. Many large lakers around this year.Glow in the dark chartuse and silver for me.I was north of hughes marina.Did mark a few large fish deeper out at 200.Thursday should be a good day after the weather were getting now
  4. Hi we went last night at Art-park and got our limit by 1000 PM.Smelting started running about 9.00.I also found dipping was better without using any lights. From what some locals told me the run just started and has about 10 days to go.I stayed at the motel in Lewiston down by the river. which has excellent rooms and very resonable
  5. Hi sorry i decided to keep it for now. thanks anyway
  6. I just heard the smelt are running at the park.Ill be down wednesday night.I went there last year but hit the run at the end.Caught some smelt but hope for a better run this year.Hope to see you all there. It's a long walk down the stairs but it is safe.
  7. it would be wise to move the second season to run in january. The birds for two years now have shown up after the regular season.
  8. Stopped in Roy's Marina today. They have been catching big jack perch for about a month now Glass factory Bay area and across the lake have benn good.Minnows and artificals seem to work well over forty feet. From what I heard it's a repeat from last years good catch. The Marina does rent slips by the month resonable and it does save alot on hauling a boat.
  9. I caught this brown last october in pultneyville harbor.Took a orange and silver cleo and the fight lasted quite awhile.Probably one of the biggest I have ever caught and the prettiest.Released it for another day.
  10. Bear creek is a good spot till they shut off the plant.Permits for the ramp are avaliable at the town hall for $100. season non resisdents.I got mine friday but havn't got the boat ready yet.Next week looks good as cold and wind is forcast till then.Perch are biting in deep water at sodus south of eagle island.

    Seneca seneca

Any reports on perch hitting on seneca?I remember last year was a very good year with many big perch.
  12. Hi, Im in the market for a new graph/gps and saw this one .It looked good but wondered if any of you have used one.I have a garmin 178c now but I want a newer one for my searay. thanks john
  13. A friend of mine told me the shipping on the river starts march 28.Wonder how much this will effect the lake level coming up this spring. Also long term forcast calls for another dry summer out west and a hotter and dryer summer here and on the great lakes.Outboards seem the prefered boat with this kind of forcast.
  14. I thought this might be a good post http://www.lre.usace.army.mil/_kd/Items/actions.cfm?action=Show&item_id=3882&destination=ShowItem
  15. excellent report. You need to get a launching permit from the town of ontario to use the ramp.I plan on getting a season permit soon. Im glad I still have my auxilary 19 ft. seanymph for this early fishing.
  16. It seems this year the ducks are spread out .Found a few good spots east of sodus but alot slower than past years.Unless you want to shoot old squaw which are plentiful in the channel at sodus.Earlier there were more divers but slower now.The geese are starting to move back up north away from the fingerlakes.Should be good sunday.
  17. Sodus should be good sunday.Alot of the ice at the north end has gone out the channel.Any place off sands point which should be open should be good later saturday and sunday.Coast guard launch is still open and good..Do watch out for the duck boats though
  18. I hear henderson harber has alotof nice cats ,late spring or early summer are the most productive, perch was awesome this year
  19. Lots of diver ducks on the lake near sodus.Alot of mallards were in sodus last week but have moved on south.Best bet is get a good duckboat with a blind .Lots of good shooting and no hassle with landowners.
  20. Had good fishing for perch the last few weeks. It was great today with light windsSunday was good out of the wind by the islands.Bait was the most productive.and 35 ft. of water off the points.
  21. Would a good idea for the state to either close the ramp as unsafe or put some rock in to prevent the trailers from becoming stuck, sodus ramp was closed months ago because of the same problem.
  22. my question is why did they let out so much water in august when they knew there was no water going into the lake.It is only simple mathematics we would end up very low.
  23. my question is why did they let out so much water in august when they knew there was no water going into the lake.It is only simple mathematics we would end up very low.
  24. lake ontario was not good for bluebills last year.Alot of guys are now using the layout boats and are doing the best.My feeling is the feds buckeled under by the boat manufacturers of these rigs and raised the limits. You can spend a fortune with a big diver rig with layout boats added.
  25. how many here actualy eat these kinds of ducks.I can barely eat a goldeye let alone a old sqaw or scotter.nefer shoot what you dont eat is always my moto
