It is still alittle spotty but they suggested next week should bring in alot of fish. The pike also is excellent and bass to.Alot of salmon also.So next weekend guys Ill be in Chaumont for sure.Don't forget no limiit on perch up there.
  7. Perch fishing has finally started to pick up. Chaumont Bay, Picton Island Channel have been some hot spots, fathead minnow has worked best. I got that off the 1000 island bait store web site. it also said got catches of pike taken also.
  8. Went down to the bay to check on a perch run,a few browns caught off the pier on cleos. The bay has alot of blue green algea along the shore line.Hope it doesn't kill the ducks
  9. dry gas makes it worse as i've been told,i had a partial tank i treated with stabil last fall, the 260 started and ran good this year.If you got real water in your tank it should show up my siphoning the bottom of the tank in a clear container.I thought mine was water but it turned out a stuck float and dirty carb from ethonal damage to lines.water seperator works but filters can only sevice so much water and then they dont work
  10. ive used the sunbrella cleaner and also the water proof treatment. It was advised by John Manns sodus bay canvas .Works well just had to soak the seems more for waterproffing
  11. there in the lake.Look in the 35 to 45 ft.area near dropoffs .,I marked some last week close to the thermocline west of pultneyville . In Lake erie thats where everyone is fishing now 70 ft . down nesr the thermocline. so why not lake ontario.

tmight pay a dime more but save about heres a big extra few no about ,you got alot better gas mileage.I bet mine is aroud 20 to 25 % better using the 91 octane at fasttrack.
  17. lots of fish still around. The temperature should be much better and the fish will be in shallower water.I bet the salmon fishing in the lake.will be good well into october this year.Lots of jumbo perch around also.,had some from monday and they were great.
  18. Called today and got the word on a slow start on perch. If we get the weather predicted the perch should be starting to come in the bay.Last year i heard they had a great run.Alot of big perch and no limit.
  19. went out for bass tonight,no luck on bass put I did mark alot of big fish off the drop off just out of port 25 ft. of water..I guess they know the rains coming tomorrow
  20. Joe, That fish sure looks like a coho.We caught enough of them back in the ninetties.I ended up 1 for two hits just west of you before you went east.Im going to try some of my old flashers and flys had good luck late last year along with running a silver horde chasing the fly.
  21. reminds me of the old days when my son's use to go out salmon fishing.Beware of the bass fishing tournaments they steal your crew.
  22. perch style,
  23. The trick with worms or crabs is to never let them get close to the bottom.Sometimes ill catch a goby if there are boulders or large rocks that cause the bottom to come closer to the bait. There is a freiend of mine who has caught alot of bass on a fly rod in closer ,so bait is not the only solution. good fishing
