I've been out with 2 salmon guides in my life, and I've been out with Justin a few times. I would Definitly say the guys that do it for a living act like "it's a job" .... but fishing with Justin and the conversations we've had I can tell you he isn't just going through the motions. He knows his lake and the prey that are in it.... and its very cool to fish from a pontoon! Lots of room to move about. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I was anchored in about 8' of water. I thought I was a bit deep but with all the activity plus ticking weeds with a HJ here and there I figured it was a decent spot. Left at 1:30... wanted to put more time in but that tiger was pulling me around pretty good. Next time I'm just gonna unhook and let go. What a pain in the ass it was. So I did have enough lights on! Out of 5 trips to otisco your the only other boat I've seen out there at night. And I've seen you twice! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I tried to do some trolling tonight but before I could do too much I kept catching floating weeds and all the white cotton stuff that's been floating in the air lately. So I decided to go anchor where I wanted to be around midnight. 12:30 rolled around and I latched onto the biggest tiger of my life! It was definitely over 36".... being in a kayak I couldn't measure it, and luckily I had a gaff with me because it wouldn't fit in my net. I put 2 stringers through the gaff hole with sliding clasps on the wire part and I figured that should hold it.... and it did till I tried to paddle 3/4 of a mile back to where I launched. About halfway there I felt it tug extremely hard and I felt a give in the weight of the tow. It had straightend both of the clasps and is back swimming as we speak. It had alot of weight... so much that when it wrapped the stringer around my anchor rope it nearly flipped me... I thought I was going over! I wanted to know what a musky patty tasted like and since that was my first over 36" I was looking forward to taking a few pics and grinding it up.... but I didn't come home empty handed. I landed a 24" eye that came on my brand new bomber... so I'm glad to see that my new lure landed me 2 fish tonight! Fished 11:30 till 3am. Started trolling rapalas and bombers at the rocks and went north..nothing. cruised north and ancord... my step kid had a good whack that was it other than an ale wive... 12 till 1:30. Trolled all the way south west side took a good hit but I think we were going a bit fast. His motor trolls 3.1 to 3.3 and he doesn't have a working trolling motor at the moment so I think we were a bit fast. Hooked into a tree in the water before we were parallel to the marina. That messed us up pretty good at least we didn't lose any of the 4 lures that we had out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Believe me... I'm not one of those "it'll never happen" type of people. I am always aware when I am in my kayak and always wear a hat light ready to click it on. I just didn't have it on last night because like I said I didnt see any boats. I may be ignorant of any laws pertaining to small row boats, but I definitely will be thinking of how to make myself more lit up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I don't own a power boat and never took a course, I assumed that running lights were only mandatory for power boats. That a lantern or flashlight is all that's required for canoes and kayaks? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

315 that was me ... went east to west and back about 6 times. I was just south of the restaurant when the wind really kicked up around 1130. Figured if had seen any boats around I would click my hat light on to let them know I was there. Maybe I could velcro a small battery lantern to the front and leave the red light on?? Finally got out to Otisco for my first time this year... trolled from 845 till 1130. One bomber, one HJ. Went one for two, landed a 21"...HJ took both hits. Wind laid down just before I launched but picked back up before I could get to Justins midnight location... didn't see any other boats out tonight. What I think is hilarious is I've read in NYON twice in the "cuffs and collars" section that people have been nabbed for taking too many bucks in a hunting season by posting pics on facebook.... now to snap a picture of an accidental catch is a stupid law... any new law to bring in fines. Thanks Andy Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
