  1. hunterangler7 you have a PM
  2. One last question, I got some 3/4 ounce white heads today and they seem pretty darn awesome. I know they are not as heavy but in depths up to 80ft will they get the job done?
  3. Ha hey about boat number 3. That was me! ha sucky morning for me man
  4. Ah ok ok. I figured that the nice fish head profile would help with the realism and one ounce would really give me some good touch down deep. Should I maybe go to a fatter shad body to add some girth to match the head? I figure some decent size to the jig should not matter much, as lakers got some pretty big mouths. I am just trying to work with what a got rather than buying a bunch more jigs.
  5. Hey guys I just wanted to post a few pics of my lake trout jigging arsenal. I got the real image jigging spoons from cabelas in 1-1/2 and 1 ounce sizes. Also and more importantly I got fish head jigs for the soft plastics from cabelas in the same sizes as the spoons. Now here is the real question as you can see I have the zoom fluke on the jig head but it is no where near flush with the head due to the size difference. Will this deter the lakers from biting or does it not matter? Or do I need a swim bait on the back of the jig head that matches its size? I mean the hook is pretty darn large on the jig head so that in and of itself is kind of throwing me for a loop. I just want to make sure that these lures are gonna get the job done so I am not wasting my time out on the water.
  6. make an offer! needs to go!
  7. Always better to be safe than sorry on Lake O! A radio is a must have!
  8. I have a Horizon Nova VHF Radio that I bought from Capt Vince P. I had planned to install it but I just did not get the time and am planning more on bass fishing than trolling. The radio is in perfect working order and in great shape as I never used it and stored it inside. $50 takes the radio. Pretty great radio for a good price. Radio was $380 according to original price tag.
  9. Ah Nevermind it seems that the waypoints are not able to be looked at from anyone but me. Oh well
  10. I hope you guys can see the waypoints. If you can't let me know
  11. Hey guys I was using a website I was directed to by a member of this site and I got busy marking some waypoints. I want to go spring and summer smallmouth bassin with my grandpa and cousins and I was wondering if the waypoints I marked are good bass catching locations. Just follow the link and check it out! Please let me know what you think! http://marine.geogarage.com/routes
  12. Yep thats what I am fishing is the thunderstick and thunderstick jr.s. Cant beat the action for the price
  13. Beautiful cause I have some nice, light, smaller, walleye candy spoons that I can run over the top
  14. Hey guys I was wondering if this technique would work in the summer when the browns are hugging bottom in around 70-80ft of water. Basically I am gonna run some nice natural colored stick baits off the ball just above the bottom and then stack some nice natural color NK spoons above those. I figure that the stickbaits are far more bait like than a spoon and I already know how effective sticks are in the spring, so it just seems reasonable that they would be dynamite off the ball in the summer. Plus then you got the spoons around 8 ft above as back up. Any insight as to whether this would work?
  15. Yah that is the wisest course of action. I got the itch real bad but I will just have to wait until I can afford such a trip. Not worth the haul down there and I am sure the steep learning curve is not easy either. I will just stick to busting up the steelies and browns at Oak Orchard. Thanks for the info guys
  16. Geez the bar and river have some beautiful depth changes. Its no wonder that the lakers, walleye and smallies find it appealing. What are the regulations with the Canadians and are they constantly checking boats out there?
  17. Hey guys let me just right off the bat establish that I have been super interested in fishing the Niagara River but I really do not know how to do so. I own a 17 ft Smokercraft bass/walleye boat and I was really interested in trying to fish the Niagara River out of it using the standard three way rig and tackle. However I have talked to a few buddies and they say I really need to go with someone (a guide) to get the lay of the land. I guess my question now is (and please don't take offense charter guys!) is that I am looking for someone to tag along with RECREATIONALLY who already fishes the Niagara. I am in college so I really can't afford to pay for a charter (unfortunately) but I was really hoping someone who already fishes this way would like a buddy to fish with and show the ropes of drifting of the Niagara for lakers, bows, and browns. I own a lot of my own tackle and I am proficient at drifting for steel and browns in rivers like the Oak and Burt Dam. I am not looking for a freebie or a handout, I just simply want to learn as I am always trying to make myself a more diverse sportsman. If anyone would let me just tag along (heck I don't even need to fish, I just want to learn!) I would be beyond grateful! and more than willing to throw gas money your way! I would be extremely grateful and willing to have you out on my boat sometime! Again I do not mean any offense to those of you who run charters, it is just that I can simply not afford to go on one! Throw me a PM if anyone on here feels like they would be willing to have me along! Thanks so much for just hearing this out!! Isaac
  18. Brockport, NY but hey I already acquired one! My buddy from next door offered me his old one so I am ready to rock! Thank you very much for the response though!!
