The scope I run is the AGM Rattler TS35-384. For the money, it is a really good scope for what we do around here (shots inside 300).

A little video from another fun night out with Fisherman21. He pulled a fox out of heavy cover for me and the .204 went to work. These bullets hit animals like little grenades. So I will say that I’ve been at this for a while and utilizing no till as well (with the exception of establishing a new plot). My soil is pretty good as it was farmland back in the day and it’s pretty neutral. I’ll tell you that I have beautiful clover and the brassica comes in awesome as well, I do believe you have something in that I need to tweak my fertilizer strategy but as far as the crops I’ve established, I have no issue and the deer hammer them. I just want something that will PULL deer from my neighbors and establish that coveted late season draw. It may very well be that there are just too many brassica plots nearby as I know of at least 2 neighbors doing the same thing. IMG_7896.mov

I’ve got a half acre brassica plot I put in this year along with another 1/3 acre brassica plot that’s going on year 3 and two 1/3 acre clover plots on year three. I’ll tell you I adore clover plots but I do find that come December they really aren’t much of a draw. Everything I read really brings you back to brassica, but I feel like a fenced acre of corn could be a game changer. Then again I have so many raccoons I could run a petting zoo. I trapped 7 in a week one time and I could have easily gotten more.

Typically I would agree with you, could just be too warm of a year for maximum bulb utilization. Obviously the ultimate plot would be corn, but I’ve heard that can be a pain to do.

So anyone out there have this issue? You plant several brassica plots for archery and late season, they get hammered all archery but then get very light use during late season? Seems like I always have thousands of bulbs that just sit all winter. I’m right in Brockport and I’ve seen plots with brassicas get absolutely upturned by deer trying to get to the bulbs during late season. Just seems like it’s never happening on my parcel. Again the bow season use of the plots is absolutely perfect, just not in December/January. It’s getting to the point I might just do winter rye plots if all they want are the greens….

Hi, it was for a 3046 R but I did sell it yesterday.

This is a John Deere Backhoe attachment that is brand new. Was purchased more out of want than a need by my Dad and subsequently never used. Listing this equipment for $2,000 LESS than the purchase price, again the item is BRAND NEW. My Dad passed away this year and my mom wants these implements gone. They will not be used and are taking up space. As such we are willing to deal with anyone interested in the implement. Great opportunity for someone to get brand new equipement for a great deal. Backhoe was purchased for $10K - we are asking 8. Give me a shout and let's make a deal. Just want my mom to be able to clear some space and get things tidied up.

Haven’t tried a whole heck of a lot just because I haven’t had to. The ELRs shoot great ( for me) and smoke deer. I don’t feel the need to chase a ghost that isn’t there. That said, I certainly would go with the Fury 250 grain yellow tip if I was gonna smooth size. I just invested in a Woodman Patriot as well, to get back to mild smokeless loads.

I shoot the power belts and B209 in my paramount with the 285 ELR. 98 grains weighed and I’m cutting holes at 100. It’s never going to be bullet to bore, custom muzzleloader accurate but I believe the .45 cal ELRs perform just fine. Every deer I’ve killed with them is just as dead as my TC Omega deer and my Savage Smokeless deer. That said, I certainly would prefer to have some more bullet competition in the .45 space without having to smooth size my own bullets. Legacy sounds like he just got a bad product which is super time consuming and ultimately frustrating as all heck.

I order most of my stuff online. Northwoods Whitetail Seeds is a good place to start.

Here is my buck from yesterday. Very productive day from a deer seen perspective. My group passed on lots of small bucks and does through the morning, until this buck came walking through. Was a bit of a team effort as he essentially got bumped from person to person and I ended on the lucky side with being able to anchor him with a heart shot. A lucky and blessed morning that I got to spend with good people.

I’ve had many attached on me and I believe that if you remove them within 24 hours of attaching the risk of any tick borne disease is very low. So I believe an engorged tick would be the reason to scramble to the doctor, not a newly attached one. Also I believe you would just monitor for symptoms and watch the bite site for the telltale bullseye (not always present with all Lyme cases). Honestly I might ask the doctor to run a blood test for Lyme the next time I do blood work. I’ve had some odd nerve issues for years and I’ve wondered if Lyme might be at the bottom of it. That said I also did a round of antibiotics for a bite that did have the bullseye rash. So who knows.

That does look like a great shot. Do you have any idea what happened to the arrow once you field-dressed him? Maybe it kicked off a rib and deflected? Great buck all the same!

Punched my tag on a buck I’ve had history with. Had him on camera the last 3 years and I know he is at least a 4 year old deer. Only issue is his rack took quite a step back this year. He always had a funky left side but I was shocked to see it turned into one unicorn antler. Was awesome to finally catch up with him after watching him all this time! He came in this morning trying to bully a little basket rack 5 pt around. I hemmed and hawed all off season on whether I would shoot him if given the chance, well he follows the little basket into my shooting lane at 22 yards and I made my decision 😂 He has a tanker body and a unique rack so I was pleased with my decision. Always nice to take a mature deer with the bow! I’ve included a trail cam pic from last year along with one from this year so you can see the antler downgrade he had. Side note, I’m shooting the iron will wides and these broad heads just ZIP through deer. Double lung on him and he didn’t make it 35 yards from the shot site.

Hahaha Amen, I feel like this summer has just been insane.

Final take on that process was that it worked super well! I just did not do that this year due to time constraints but I still did no till (controlled weeds with chemicals) and it is working very very well. I would definitely give you a tour of the place, just have to iron out your availability!
