  1. A good option for the looped fly is this for fast changes
  2. It is well worth the effort....my son has been fishing with me since age 2 1/2 ( even ice fishing etc.) and we're still doing it almost 40 years later.
  3. x2 on Rob's comment.I'm sure when they did the research and development they had the swivel attached so why not run as designed?
  4. It does look like a whitefish Pete but I think the fins are usually darker. If we could see the tail clearly it might help too as they have a very pronounced "V" in it but the mouth looks more like that of a whitefish..
  5. I don't think any actual specific instructions came with it. You have to depress each of the start and view buttons to make changes
  6. There are two basic settings accessed on the menu screen temp and depth. The temp measures either the fahrenheit temp or centigrade temp at 5 ft intervals. You also need to specify (menu screen) fresh or salt water type. The other setting is depth and that is selected as an option on the menu screen and it measures depth down to at least 300 ft in 1 ft increments. (i believe the max. depth possible is 400 ft.). The menu screens are a bit "clunky" as you have to use the View and Start functions to activate changes.
  7. Not easy to tell from the way is is hanging but possibly Cisco?. I think the Gizzard Shad may have a black round spot at the rear of the gill
  8. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black to me as I have worried about being in yours at times with all that hardware.
  9. The loss of his right to own and/or use a gun has more to do with the legal nature of the offense than anything else. Convicted felons are prohibited from possessing, owning or otherwise having contact with conventional firearms. so basically it is much like the forfeiture of the voting right of a felon as well. Both are guaranteed by the Constitution /Bill of Rights and subject to specific limitations (legal constraints) set forth by individual states.
  10. Thanks Mike never can have too many lures right?
  11. Sorry Dennis none. Sure wish I did though. I think they were all pretty well scarfed up on after Charlie died in 2010.
  12. We sure hope so and you did it right Bill and from the pics you routinely display are continuing to do so By the way your daughter is a lot braver than me Much of it is about proper parenting and exposure to the "right stuff".
  13. Thanks much Chris and I appreciate the thought but you deserve the money for them and I will be bringing it
  14. It's true Mike. When I was in Junior School (now Middle school) they had a target range in the basement of the school where we held our Rifle Club events and even when I was in a Youth Group at the Episcopal Church we regularly did archery practice and competed among us in the basement (think I was in 7th grade then). Now kids spend their time alone or with one or two others doing video games, watching pxoxrxnxo, or hacking into computers while in their own finished basements or bedrooms without any parenting going on or supervision of any type and probably little to no awareness of what was going on..... until something terrible happens. Kids and adults don't know how to sooth themselves, entertain themselves with outdoor activities requiring effort or with productive activity. Does it sound like "Grumpy Old Men".?..Yep (but that doesn't mean it isn't true)
  15. Yeah Bill American's have gotten too far away from our roots. It is a mistake that will come back to bite us in the butt too.
  16. Interesting article. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/hunting-is-slowly-dying-off-and-that-has-created-a-crisis-for-the-nations-many-endangered-species/ar-BBZA5Pc?ocid=bingoverlayoff2
  17. Yup unfortunately you're right Bill.
  18. far from a prude but when millions of families with mixed ages watching it was very inappropriate in terms of the underlying message.
  19. I think I got this one right in terms of predictions....too bad I wasn't so lucky with my team the Bills Very good game still recovering from all the food and drinks
  20. I'll take them Chris and can get them when we meet up/cash.
  21. They recommend bolting through as it does not hold screws or rivets well.
  22. I go with spoonfed's suggestion. Ii used to snell my hooks but for years now use the knots much quicker and they work fine with either knot mentioned.
  23. Another place to try jigging is right out in front of deans Cove and slightly to the the south side of the ramp. Don't have to go out very far and it drops off with fish usually hanging there.
