You should use premium high performance lower gear case lube from the marina in it and you should also be running the special synthetic Optimax Oil in the oil injection system routinely (according to the factory techies anyways). It is best to use antifreeze (the type used in campers) in your system wherever water may be trapped including any live wells etc. The marinas usually add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and then run the fuel through the gas lines and engine briefly. Basically the main difference in the salt water Opti is related to corrosion protection in the parts that might be subject to it. The factory manual also recommends that the impeller be changed out every two years. Mine went this year and cost me a derby so you may want to have it checked to avoid problems.

Still price better than the synthetic oil run in my Opti at $50 per gallon

Right now the water temp isn't all that important for mature kings anyway...they are homing in on their native streams. I'd be trolling back and forth out from stream mouths. They will spread out all over so just have to experiment depth wise and as far as trolling speed it needs to be varied and with the J-plugs they can also be run closer to the ball as well especially when run towards bottom. Probably wise to make shorter in that case as they go all over the place and dive as well

Last year I had 2sets of spinneys/fly on the down riggers and apparently they tangled in the releases or the weights and when I pulled the lines they busted off and they were brand new out of the package that day ....and then this season...a couple of Seth Green rig lines with spoons and sinker bead chains (among other things) etc. ....all part of the "fun" I made the mistake of mentioning it to my wife ....her response was "Why is it that all your hobbies are so expensive"? -
I think that is about the only game in town that I know of now..I sure miss ole Bill Snyder's Bait and Tackle shop over there.....but....I did get to buy out most of his Sutton's (couple hundred) when he closed up shop way back when

Nice going Justin. I got up a little while ago and the wind isreally whipping bad here and the weather report isn't promising so it looks like another weekend spent rigging equipment and doing house stuff I'm starting to get the itch for the jumbo perch on the Fingers about now....and it's tough to decide what to fish for about now....thankfully I don't hunt any more so at least its just between the fishing options Les

There is a total avoidance of the real underlying issues on the part of government and a vast majority of the citizens of our country. We have virtually eliminated access to mental health services in this country because of the money involved. Mental health professionals and the medical profession are running scared because we live in a society with way to many lawyers and lawsuits are the name of the game these days. At the very heart of the thing is the disintegration of the family unit, absence of involved fathers as effective male role models and disciplinarians , one parent (or grand parents) trying to raise youths, the blame game between parents and teachers and school administrators, a growing total lack of respect for parents, or teachers, and authority figures by much of today's youth, and the rampant portrayal of violence on TV, the movies, reality shows, and especially video games accessed by youth (unmonitored)- you name it....we are viewing ourselves as a "violent culture" and this becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Adding to this is the underlying message being given in many different ways that bring the sports mentality into everyday life....there are only "winners" and "losers" so perpetrators of crimes become "winners" and the victims are viewed as "losers". People defending themselves or their property are put on the defensive to explain their actions rather than the focus being on the offending person, and the legal system that allows serious repeat offenders to go free or with a slap on the wrist and they continue to offend and up the anty while the system appears sound asleep. Guns in and of themselves aren't the problem...illegal trafficing and illegal possession and use are problems...and they aren't being effectively dealt with by anyone.

I hope you recover your stuff Hans. It is puzzling that they didn't touch the other stuff though and as much as I hate to say it it sounds like somebody who fishes and is adding them to their own stuff rather than selling or they would have taken everything...especially if it was drug money related motive etc. I'd keep an eye out around there....

I think when all is said and done it does boil down to preference....it is a matter of what knot you have confidence in and good results with over time.
