    Hey fellow LOU goers and BIG fish Friday enthusiasts. It's time for the honor system big fish Friday. The time? Friday May 24. From sunrise to whenever you feel lucky. But the weigh in, like always will be at 5:30 pm at sampson ramp. Bring your twenty bucks and your big one. Winner, always takes all. Mark isn't at a wedding this year so he better have the cup for the almost won, second place finisher! I need anyone who wants in to contact me via pm, and or phone at 607-426-5919 to get on the list... If you don't show, well that's a shame because its all in fun and ya would probably spend the twenty on something not needed like that ice ya forgot or the most important thing, beer. Hurry up!     I have the Volvo aq260 engine. It's a 5.7. Just a different color! I upgraded last year, not by choice but by failure. Mine quit while I was on a trip. I highly recomend the mallory electronic ignition system. Drop and go. I believe the kit is a mallory YLM ...... I forgot the numbers but its a bit pricey but my boat runs a ton better. However it says on kit that you can use OEM coil. Dont! This system will burn it up. You will need the coil pack, not the canister/cylinder. My boat rubs better than ever before.. Just my two cents, worth every penny. Nick

    BTW, I am running an aq260 with a dp 290 outdrive... Love them.

    Volvo are same engine to me as a mercs.. the outdrives are bulletproof IMO...

    We get a lot of them at certain times of year on browns. I'd say we killed close to fifty last year. Some browns and salmon were coming up with three on them at a time. All at the gills. Small ones about4-7 inches but we had a few that were 18 inches... May they rest in pieces...

    I believe you can check the signal out of the module. See if the coil is receiving signal to throw spark. Should be the wire opposite of the hot wire? I am not sure without looking but maybe its blue? Not quite sure. If you need a hand, let me know maye a second set of eyes can help. Live right around the corner from ya. Nick
