  1. that would be awesome Ed!!
  2. You know, We have boated alot, i mean alot of big landlocks this winter, but even last summer i got some beautys...Plus the lakers we boated looked So VERY VERY healthy. Fat!! Last year we had alot of lakers that had huge heads and small skinny bodies which i guess is malnutrition? But this year they are looking good!! All the browns we boated had lamphrey marks too bad they hang out in the same water temps...
  3. I got rid of my Bird after sending it back once and them sending me two transucers...Gave up.
  4. I had an 788ci, and it worked good for a while but went to crap. HUMMINBIRD couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. But I am bck to LOWRANCE now...Just my two cents..
  5. Next time call me, I will drop off some PADS for ya!!!!
  6. Well, i use to own a 87 Trophy Bayliner 21foot with the aq125 engine 270 outdrive, it did about 24 mph wideopen and 2 guys half tank of fuel. But comfortable around 19-21 mph... But a solid boat is what it was! Now i have a 2860 Trophy its an 1986, with a 350 volvo with a 280DP outdrive. This boat does 34 mph WIDE OPEN, GULP GULP!! She cruises nicely at 23 mph. And less fuel!! But this is a heavy and wide boat, so i think thats a heck of a cruise speed. A gentleman in Montour ny, who i spoke with before, had a 24 footer, and i never heard him say one bad thing about his boat. As always all boats have their flaws. Last year there was a post about the Livewell Covers(deck) getting soft and waays to repair it. I noticed the ones on my new trophy have already been done. But My boat had a survey done 2 yrs ago, and every thing was solid, although the cosmetics need attention. Join the trophy club
  7. Trolling, spoons and Sticks Boss.
  8. Youre Welcome Guys. Always a good time on the water with some good guys!!
  9. Well Gents, Bob, Rodney and I decided to fish today, despite the weather forecast for heavy rain and winds. Loaded the boat up at 5:30 am, Bagan to pull out of the driveway, bang, clank, clash,EEERRRKk. "Uht OOHH", Yup, Flat tire, already? Ok, I have an awesome set of tools, we can fix anything, is what Bob was thinking. I know he was. I can read minds. So we put air in the tire. Sweet, blew it off the bead. Yup!, Got it to seal, and next thing we know, the sidewall began to look like it was giving birth to a tennis ball...Interesting. Well, we knew we wanted to fish so we stole a tire off the spare trailer on the hill. Gets better, Tire size is completely different. Bolt pattern match? Yes, yes it does. Ok, bolt it on, and on the road at 6:30. Watkins, 7:30, Boats nice and wet. Now we head on out to our secret spot. You know, the one on the south western end of Seneca Lake. Found plenty of murky, stained water from all of the nice runn off from tribs and drainage creeks. These areas were fun with the one flat line we had running through them. We made sure we looked like we werent catching fish. We ran north and south numerous times and caught fish on every pass from pier, to the salt plant and then some. Wind and waves were unforgiving, but the fishing was worth it. Almost hit a grand slam. Rainbows just didnt wanna snack today. Fish are everywhere from the shoreline to the middle of the lake, from the surface, down to the bottom. We covered this entire grid, catching fish from all depths on all colors today. Stinger spoons were out friend today. NK's wouldnt take a shot. Stinger copper mass confusion, and watermelon were hot, Along with a custom SBS spoon. Flat lines, Leadcores, Wires, Rigger were all taking fish. Wires gave us out lunker on a flasher fly rig. A 9.5 lb Landlock today. All in all a good way to end my March 2011 fishing adventures. See you on the water in April fellas!!! Oh and if there is anything I left out..Just ask As always, tight lines, and safe boating, NiCk
  10. This post is funny! LOL Musky Bob pulled out the your poor card!! hahaha
  11. Well, the pier is on the south western shore of seneca lake in watkins glen. You will have no problem taking your kyak there, in fact, you will have a better chance goign to the canal, going to the mouth and fishing with that thing near the warm water discharge of the Salt plant ( 2 salt plants on south end). This discharge is only a few hundred yards away from the clute park launch. Not to mention the breakwall will be there for your safety just in case. I see guys there all year round on kyaks. You will do good. Bass minnows or even fly fishing with buck tails. Post your reports!! Nick
  12. Is the site down? or am i just an idiot?
  13. that website worked, thank you.
  14. Sean , i do live on the boat from time it hits the water til the day it comes out. However, if you get away from the easy access marinas, your gear should be safe. Lock it up..tight. With my old boat, you couldnt tell it wa a fishermans boat, the new one, no way to hide it. However, locks only keep honest people out. I do not ever leave electronics on my boat, never! Seneca does die down in may on the south end, i find myself running about 6-10 miles before getting back into heavier fish. I like to make a weekend out of it and fish geneva end a few times a season. With the Nation Lake Trout Derby being one of them and the Red Cross another( missing it this year). If i had a trailer, I couldnt agree with these guys anymore...
  15. ROLLIE!! Where have you been, i have been worried sick!! its good to see ya back on here! I too was at the canal launch today. ice burgs everywhere!! But the canal is open about 20 yds past the launch. waves were rolling good today! See ya on the water!!
  16. Hey guys, anyone have any input on the volvo penta AQ 280 Duo Prop Outdrive removal for the bellows. I have dont plent of my alpha, but not volvo. I dont think i will have a biig issue, but figured i would need some insight on it before i tackled it. Thanks Guys in advance.. chime in Hank? nick
  17. The cayuga boys choose seneca because thats the only body of water they have fished , just kidding. Some people do notice a difference in how the lakes produce with tactics and what nots. Seneca is the mos unpredictable of them all, we can go from glass waters to 3 footers really fast, i am sure cayuga can too. However both south ends you will deal with sailboats and the weekenders, but once you run past hector falls, it tends to die off.. I slip in the canal in watkins glen, and i dont complain, Good people, gas docks, pump out... And the good fishing stays all season long! Plus theres always a boat to jump on. Slip pricing went up @ montour marina this season from what i have heard. Glen harbor is tough. Seneca Marine is close to the lake on the canal, but high dollar. I dock at Ervays Inc. I am a ten minute trip to the lake and its peaceful all summer, except for the rowdy crowd, but its always a good time. I hear marina is selling in spring. Possibly new owenership, maybe for the better? slips are not too bad, and you dont have to drive through town to get to your boat!!!!!!!! . If you have an other ?'s pm me. Nick
  18. 13lb torpedos from atomik...Cant go wrong. I have yet to complain. I also run 10 pound pancakes. They seem fine until going cross wind...
