  4. Elusive little creatures! The south end has some brown activity right out front, look for them where the T Cline meets the bottom of lake. This is their preferred area. Fishing can be best for them on over cast days, rain, and wind. If you have some colored water, even better chances. As stated above, long light leads and make those lures work. Zig zag a bit. Usually take the shots in the inside turns. For example. Saturday got a nice one 51 down over 60 fow... 75 foot lead.. Inside turn.. If you can find suspended bait over the shelfs or near bottom where the T Cline is you'll find browns. There's some key areas in this lake for them. They are lake wide but there are areas that produce the most. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Jim, If you invest in a chute copper or core, I have two tx22 online boards you can have two get that line out to the side. If you hit a fish on a dipsy, especially in a turn, you will likely lose the fish, dipsy and core or copper all together. I'll be in Watkins all weekend long if you're around. Staying at the lake all weekend for birthday festivities. Nick Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. At times I think it's all bait and that's why fishing is so tough. Our lures don't stand out compared to never ending bait. That's m/o. One things for sure, the fishing getting better each week. Just in time for winter. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. When we had our kicker motor. I always kept a piece of weed eater string to poke in the pee hole. Broke that wasp nest up every time Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. Clutter and bait. Do you have down temp? They Cline can be picked up by most sonars. Friday my T Cline was about 40 to fifty down. Sunday it was only 30.... Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Well, I took on a job for a family friend. Complained of boat overheating last year, but had a good pee stream from tell tale while running. First, remove lower unit and found a good impeller. Which is surprising for a motor that sat for 8 years, indoors though, oil was brand new looking. Motor ran good he said, after a brief diagnosis I removed the t-stat unit to find the stats corroded and stuck shut, at idle the bypass allowed enough water flow but under load the stats never opened resulting in high temps. The motor was never hurt and is all set. I got the parts online fairly cheap. OEM as well. The passage was also plugged from the head to the T stat housing. Flushed motor out and ran without stats installed. clean flow. Assembled with new parts and ran. Nice and cool now. This task is definitely a somewhat easy task. For a do it yourselfer. 21. What he said above is dead on. Don't be afraid to fish the middle of the lake if 120 foot isn't productive. Fish the suspended fosh out in the middle towards the barge 65 to 120 down. Good luck. Nick Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Got a few this am. Got a nice rainbow. Some short salmon. This afternoon, not a single bite Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Lots of debris but suspended fish over 150 and 350 fow. Lakers were high. 80 and up. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Seneca slammer. Fished just south west of your waters. Near Starky area. Heading up shortly. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Well, the lakes slowly cleaning up. Had a good t-cline this morning. Not ideal but we are gaining. Fishes from 6:30 to noon. Had 12 bites. Landed 5. Four salmon and a laker. Lost two piggy wiggly Lakers at the back of boat. It's getting better. 3 more inches of rain tomorrow. Stay dry. Nick Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
