    trim tabs

i'm having a hard time getting used to these trimtabs. the boat really wants to pull hard one way or another. my old 19' stingray, just gun it and steer, no worries. this boat wants to pull.any advice would be very helpful. its a penn yan outrage 225 with a 350 merc i.o.
  3. i'll b out thurs. or fri. reading jasons report i think we'll go to seneca.
  4. i used to slip my old boat at taunghanic falls on cayuga. worth every penny!!

  6. no way man.it was spider man.-get it right..
  7. hi everyone. we started at tremaine st. park at dawn. pulled big boards and sticks from the get go in shallow. things were slow allday. picked up a few browns on firetiger patterns. mostley sticks, but honeybee spoon pulled its weight. did manage a 9-10 lb. brown(not sure, my scales' battery is dead). ended up going 7-7 for the day. we tried deeper water later in the day' but did not have much luck. lots of debris on the east side of the lake.I caught a marker bouy somebody left out in the lake + lots of fire wood floating every where. i just missed catching a lawn chair that was just hanging out in the middle of the lake. not bad for the first time on cayuga for the year.--dave "reel hard"
  8. sweeeeet report. busy day catching that many. its also a busy day when the lake is full of deris..... including a lawn chair.
  9. good to see you guys. glad you caught fish. lots of boats out, wonder how every one else did.
  10. nice catch! I'll be there tomarrow.
  11. great report. we're going to cayuga on sunday. great browns
  12. i"m heading to cayuga on sunday 4-11. i havent heard much from you guys over there. is the fishing that bad, or just that good? we're planning on launching at ithaca at the crack of dawn to pull the big boards. c'mon rusty rat, spill it...
  13. watch out. i put in for the weekend off&got it. the prize money will pay for gas for the lake trout derby.
  14. we had a fun day too. that black and green dot spinny looks like the one we lost, along with a dipsy and fly. (an expensive leson on my part) i'll have to go see a-tom-mic to replace my missing equip come next payday. the wind realy picked up later on ...
  15. i mostly fish cayuga, but we were picking up seneca lakers deep. down 100' over 150-200fow spinny & flies worked well. when you find bait fish, don't go far. keep trying till you figure out what they want.
  16. My friend is in need of a windshield for his 19' 1996 centra cuddy. his got smashed under ice. any help would be appreciated.
  17. spent the day on the water with my son and my brother. started the day hooking up on my new wire rig. I quickly learned that i need to use larger swivels. I lost my new dipsey, black/green dots sd, and fly. later on we doubled up on the wire rigs, so that made up for it a little. sort of a slow pick all day. we ended up 15-18, with 2 LL's about 4-5 lbs each. most came on bigweenie flies, but we did manage a couple(including 1 LL) on a black and green with white bottom spoon. my 4 yr. old son got to reel in a few which made everyones day ran the new simrad ap14, and it woked flawlessly!! hopefully, weather permitting, we will be back on the water next weekend. it was great to see so many fishermen, and l.o.u. members at the launch that morning. ps, sorry i don't have any pics, gotta start carrying the camera. Dave
  18. thanks. just ordered 2. i'm running wire for the first time this year.
  19. where can i go online to buy some twilly tips. it seems i just can't locate them. i tried bass pro, cabelas, gander mtn, plus some local shops... help
  20. thanks jason, jeff, and wayne. i had a great day on seneca. first time out for the year and only forgot the pliers. now i have to go buy some of those spin doctors and big weenie flies. oh, and the banana thing was new to me too... good thing i usually drink my lunch
  21. southend. probly the canal at around 615-630.
  22. looks like jason and i are going to try seneca on wednesday. our 3rd person backed out so looks like we have an open seat if anyone is interested. might be a little bumpy as they're calling for some wind.
  23. yea, I think we're going to the south end of seneca. it's close to home should anything go wrong. thanks for the advice sean. we should hook up sometime, i'd love to pick your brain for a while. if any one else is going out on wed. give me a shout. Dave
  24. i can't take it anymore! this unusual warm temp. has got me all fired up about a month early. i've never put my i.o. in until the end of april or the 1st week in may. my partner in crime and I are planning on putting the penn yan in on wed. 3-24-10. we are still undecided if we should go ta cayuga or seneca. any info on the launches at tremain or the canal in watkins ? seems the fishing on seneca has been more active, so i'm kinda leaning that way. anyone else plan on fishing that day. i'll be on channel 68 "reelhard" hope to see ya out there, Dave.
  25. you're killing me. it's daddy day-care for me, other wise i'd be there in a heart-beat. good luck, i know i'll be green with envy when your braggin bout all the fish you caught. Dave
