I Have a CHALLENGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to RUNNIN REBEL's topic in Big / Small Game
Jerry, do you ever look in the mirror and say, "wow, it's great to be me!" ? Geez, and I thought you only had fun bashing BTs and eating lobster! Seriously, congrats on joining the Bow hunting addiction. I finally found this part of LOU and now I know where everyone is hiding. Knowing you, you will get one-eyed jack. Hopefully with your new bow. It's incredible, no BOOM! Good Luck! -
I read a very interesting article that you won't find on a front page anywhere. Guess which state has the fastest growing economy in the country? UTAH. Seems the relatively new Republican governor there used this really complicated formula for success-----SMALLER GOVERNMENT. "I wanted to get off peoples backs and lower taxes, and I knew the businesses and jobs would come" was his quote. Hmmm, sounds a little bit like, can you say, REAGANOMICS!

DEC Commissioner fired over leaked memo
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to Billy V's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Exactly right Jimski. This is yet another sign that every program that we love, that makes sense and lots of money for the state,is in jeopardy. As for the windmills, I have found it eerily odd that the DEC has been so silent on the GLOW proposals. The proponents go about their business as if there are no environmental hammers that could come down on them. Please, please, lets shock the world and put the businessman in Albany. -
DEC Commissioner fired over leaked memo
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to Billy V's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Actually, I've never respected Grannis more than I do now. Just another example of the dysfunction of NY government. All the guy did was simply share how these cuts would "gut" an already thin dept, one that he is held accountable for. Yes, it has become a very socialist state. And another career politician leads the polls in NY. I'm gonna go hang a couple tree stands. -
Last Sunday was our last Lake trip. Despite building seas and having a primarily King based program in, we hooked several Steelheads and Browns. Through the middle of the prior week, we were still hitting a few Salmon. Before we could change over and target trout, the lake became nasty. The trout were picking out the chrome DW and J-plugs. A spoon program in the shallows on the mudline would probably be very productive. We were in 15--25 ft of water, on the moving mudline, around Olcott harbor. Good luck, be safe.

Certainly the best choice available. Doesn't everyone want to take a baseball bat to Albany?

2011 King of the lake dates
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to fishman08's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Matt, I have to schedule in advance as well. I was able to find out the first event will be a week later, the weekend after Easter. -
I didn't know Sam very well, but we knew each other from the inception of the fishery. When you were around him, at some point that warm smile would occur. RIP Sam, we will do our best to keep Salmon and trout in, and windmills and asian carp out, of your beloved lake.

Irondequoit and Wind Turbines 10/19 Meeting
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to Just Fishin''s topic in Open Lake Discussion
I had the priviledge to attend the presentation by renowned energy expert John Droz Friday night in Niagara Falls. Do yourselves a favor and look at the web presentation he has on the issue. It can be found at: Energy Presentation.info Tell everyone you know about this web address. Knowledge is power, and the magnitude of the lies being spread is immense. The ramifications are much, much greater than altering our beloved Great Lakes. Manipulating the masses through fear and guilt is the approach being used. -
I attended the presentation by John Droz in Niagara Falls. An incredible wealth of information was provided. Unfortunately, once you digest this info you will be even more irate about the proposed projects. Not only the planned ruination of the Great Lakes, but any large scale windpower project. The blatant lies and spreading of misinformation, is downright unforgiveable. Although John Droz, an energy expert, shares many of our feelings from an asthetic and moral position, he strongly suggests using science in the fight. I found it very interesting that he shared "big picture" observations, such as the anti-American movement coming from right inside our own country. Spending TRILLIONS on on fraudulent projects like GLOW, will triple/quadruple the cost of energy, further crippling our economy and strengthening other countries who are laughing at us. The greatest lie being spread is that Windpower will reduce our dependence on foreign oil. There is absolutely no connection. We are already completely independent in our electric production. My interest in this issue has been primarily to protect the Great Lakes. After listening to his presentation, It is clear we all better wake up because this is a "snow job" of monumental proportions. The ramifications of remaining "sheep" are far too great. It is everything we thought, and so much more. Although not as powerful as in person , the web presentation can be found at: Energy Presentation.info

Thank you for your service. There are many great fishermen in the Rochester area, and I'm sure they will find this post and help you out. From experience in years past, I'd say there is action on both piers at the mouth of the Genny, as well as upstream at the dam. Casting lures from the piers, and drifting skein below a bobber at the dam are good places to start right now. The Steelies are sneaking in all the big rivers now, and will be hot in November.

PLEASE, Sliderbite Needs Our Prayers
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to muskybob's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Very sorry to hear of your loss. -
Unfortunately they will go wherever there is little opposition. The money grab is on, and they are printing money for this. They are without souls. When we are left with the fall out, they will be on to the next project. The thought of these in ANY of the GREAT lakes, sickens me.

Sportsmen and Women must take action
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to Capt Vince Pierleoni's topic in Open Lake Discussion
The people have spoken. Now lets finish the job. Some of us up here are going to make every effort to get more people registered and out to vote. Perhaps there is hope for NYS and the USA afterall. -
Thanks to all who took the time to write an email. It has made a difference, and we are hopeful. I had a conversation with David Godfrey yesterday, and he would still welcome well crafted letters from groups and organizations. Whether nearby residents or visitors to Lake Ontario, he stated that this would still be useful in the fight. As some of you know, we are up against an agenda of perception. Money flying around for "green projects" and people will fight to grab it, regardless of the long term consequences.

Trolling Speed Concerns With 8.1 Mercruiser Horizons
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to Addiction's topic in This Old Boat
This has been a hot topic amongst guys repowering or exploring repowering. I'm pretty sure the Cold Steel guys rely only on various sized bags, and they have 8.1 Crusaders. I also know that in a new application, asking for trannys with trolling valves even with the new generation gas engines is a growing concept. -
Sportsmen and Women must take action
Capt Vince Pierleoni replied to Capt Vince Pierleoni's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Voting until 9pm tonight, and I watched people excited to take part. Is there enough outcry to turn this great state around?
