  9. Well a buddy of mine gave me a 4 blade 16 pitch to try out today and what a difference.. in a few seconds up on plane, 4200 wot… manual says 4400-4800 is the range so im pleased. This was with just myself, my gf and 1/4 tank of gas. Out tomorrow with a buddy thatll add another 230+ lbs of beef… well see how she does
  10. Plugs and holes ? Not to sound stupid but i have no idea what plugs and holes in a prop are. The 21 pitch prop was doing 3600 at wot and only 11mph until it finally creeped up to plane topping out around 4000. When i tried the temp replacement prop the tach was going crazy between 5000-6000 and not wanting to damage my motor i pulled back and came back.
  11. Thank you Mahine, shes got tabs. I will see if i can find your prop and test it
  12. Ive had the boat since ‘12, never was an issue. Last fall was doing the same thing but was told it was algae on the bottom creating a suction, i thought it was because my prop was dinged up
  13. I have a 2004 trophy pro 2052 with a 4.3 mercruiser, alpha 1 outdrive, heres my issue… when i get out of the river and throw the hammer down im getting 3600rpm, boat only doing +\- 11mph… eventually the mph creeps up (takes a long long time) then eventually gets in the mid/upper teens and planes out. At that point im at +\- 4k rpm. New plugs, cap & rotor. I had the prop replaced last fall before putting it away for the winter.. discovered the prop was a 14.25, 21 pitch. Beth at Mike’s gave me a 14.25, 18 pitch to try out, got to the lake, hammer down, rpms were over 5k but still not going anywhere… thoughts ??
  14. While out this past weekend, after landing a brown, I put the lip grippers on the fish connected the wrist strap to a line and back in the water after cutting the gills to bleed out. After a couple minutes I ago to retrieve the fish and you guessed it... NO FISH... but the grippers were still clamped shut. Has this happened to anyone else, is there a fix or should I stop bleeding them out with the grippers and just throw em back in with just a cord thru the gills ? Tks
  15. When finishing up the day and probably the season last Sunday morning one of my riggers failed to stop when breaking the water. Luckily my buddy was paying attention and unplugged it. Back at the dock I dropped the weight in the water and as soon as I plugged the rigger back in it wanted to retrieve. Anyone out there ever have a similar issue ? Simple as replacing the switch ? Thanks
  16. I have a Magda Pro 30dx reel that was purchased this past winter. When flicking the lever to put it into freespool this does not work. Has anyone else come across this issue and have a simple repair ? If not, who in the pulaski area repairs reels ? Thank you
  17. Just spoke with a conservation officer. He said that if your boat is in the water and you can get to it that you're free to use it. Also said if a launch is not barricaded you're able to use that as well. He did say they were not given any direction on how to enforce the ruling. He did say that marinas were not essential and had to close. I asked about repairs and gas, repairs were only for essential boats (police ect..) they can't be open to sell gas.
  18. how & what needs to be done ?
  19. I have an EZ Steer connected from an Alpha I outdrive to a yamaha 9.9 kicker. When turning left the kicker is barely angles and with alittle bit of a wind won't turn the boat. Turning right the kicker turns just fine. When back at the dock I turned wheel to the left and noticed the tube compressed. If I detach the easy steer I'm able to push the kicker in either direction Any input would be appreciated
  20. I have been making them and have seen all the video. I have a ton of flies so cutting them down to 2.5" for teasers is no big deal. My only question was whether or not I needed a bead chain. At his point I think I'm going to add a ball bearing swivel roughly 18" above the meat head and tie the teasers above that. Put a loop on the flouro and attach that to the snap swivel on the flasher
  21. Decided this year will be the year to finally throw meat into the mix. And since I'm the kind of person that enjoys catching fish from something I make myself I thought I would look into making meat rigs. What I have done so far is started with 3 arms length of 50lb flouro, snelled a treble on, added two beads, snelled an octopus on then a dreamweaver meat head. Up past the head I cut 3 trolling flies down to 2-2.5 inches for my teasers and put them on the line by looping small beads. Now heres my question.......... do I need to use a bead chain ??? My thought was to put a loop at the end like when making flies and this loop would connect to the snap swivel on the flasher and this would prevent line twist. Looking forward to your input

  24. I purchased a 4x2 folding table from Walmat. Folds into a 2x2 square making it easy to store down below. Adjustable legs and fits perfectly over my doghouse. I cut a hole to put my knives to keep them from sliding off. For $48 didnt think you could beat the price, table is made of HDPE. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Best-Choice-Products-4ft-Indoor-Outdoor-Folding-Portable-Plastic-Picnic-Party-Dining-Camp-Table-w-Handle-Lock-White/150299151?athcpid=150299151&athpgid=athenaItemPage&athcgid=null&athznid=PWVUB&athieid=v0&athstid=CS002&athguid=466001f5-29985e8c-2963a94ae74d01b2&athena=true
