oh really? sound cool!

Yeah, it is at northwest point of Ptown shore. If you fish west of Ptown shore, You will find cliff spot maybe 300-500 feet away from beach at where boat crowd is, It is drop-off from 50-100 feet. Bunch of stripers on there. on occasion, you might will see BFT jumping around.
-
Yeah, you can sneak around in P-town. I have been see someone who catching 50lbs at there consistly for couple of years. I couldn't figured it out. Nor I can catch some big'um at there. except cods. All my monster bass was caught in Chatham and Brewster on wire/hair-jig on nearby shore or far out at less three miles. (cannot fish in federal water for stripers) even through I caught one striper bass in 30 pound range while trolling for BFT at 15 miles offshore.

HUDSON RIVER 2011
Deaf Fisherman replied to ray koziatek's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
oh pssh! you can talk for anything right now, but just wait until I start fishing for them. -
Ray - That's awesome. I could have take you along but I don't have a boat. I always work on Commerical boat and Charter. Maybe in couple of years before I will buy my first boat, I'll definitely take you along. p.s. you are being wrong about main run. This date (aug 13th-29th) is exactly when serious holy cow Stripers run. But previous that date, all babies are everywhere with one or two cows along them. My biggest stripers always taken in whole month of August.

Awesome Post! There was couple of nice fish! You got me worked up already! I am definitely start fishing for them at July. But I might itched to go shore fishing for them. Maybe, it will be my turn to post report on here. so you can get jealous of my fish! But for now, Ray K-1 / me-0 -
Hammer289 - That's exactly what I just did on my carp fishing. Corn used as bait was very cheap and very effectively for carp fishing. Amazing how they like to eat corn! Wondering if they keep eating corn as daily, would their meat taste like as corn?
-
Water Gremlin - Yeah, I know Carp get bad reputation for sport fish. But If you want a really fight from fish, Carp is one of fish that can test on your fishing strength and skills.
-
Ray - awesome! Sound like you have fun day at Hudson. I cant wait to go back home at Mass so I can start hit hard on stripers and cods.

I just bagged huge carp today! 39 inchers with 27 inch girth. Absolute beast fish! The scale said it was 35 pounds. I couldn't believe it after 30-45 minutes of fight. After i netted him, carp still have fighting power left and bend my net in half until I grabbed the net lines. Then dragged to nearby shore and took photo. I barely can lift it after that power fighting. Oh man, I am really wiped out and I just realized I have to paddle back home. But I gave it couples of breaks and fishing along paddle way to home. I saw couple bigger one out there along with my carp that was caught. But forget it, man! I will after those fish sometime later, not today. I was physical worn out. I need that kind of fighting pain. It is only beginning for me. I caught it on 10 pound line.

Oops. I still didn't caught Freshwater drum. The photo posted on here was actually a fish called Quillback. I asked someone for clarify to idenify this fish. He told me that fish was Quillback. I was surprise. In either way, I cross that fish off. Now, uncross mark on Drum! Have anyone caught Quillback fish before? Is they was easy to catch or hard to catch?

Deaf Fisherman replied to Stinky Finger's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I went out last saturday. Alot of pikes following. But only could have two babies to bite it. 28 incher and 26 incher. Both was CPR. here it is! Can't complain about it. Since I caught something, not skunk out! -
P.s. I caught them on my birthday day on recently Monday. Cant beat that gift for what I have been wished for!
-
Thanks everyone! I caught both of them in one of those Bay right off from Lake Ontario on Kayak. Freshwater Drum was surprised me while I was fishing for carps. Fighting was great! I thought it was king salmon that I was hooked. Until I saw the body of Drum. Oh boy, I was wrong on that one! Then next cast, boom, Rock Bass smacked it. here is the photo that I caught it... About time that I cross my bucket list quest to catch them!

I like your idea, Ray.

2011 PIKE OPENING DAY
Deaf Fisherman replied to Stinky Finger's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Both photo was same fish. Yeah, sorry, I don't have any kind of electronics on my kayak. I am just beginners on kayak. Another kayak who had the electronics told me that it was around 46-50 degree. But not sure. since it was little miscommunicate. Since I think he never saw deaf person before. At least, he was trying to sign numbers to me but it looks like messed number. This number, I was thinking he was trying to tell me. Another RIT student who in bass club caught 32 incher pike on same day when I was caught this bass. But two weekend ago, I went to south end for bass+catfish, I caught two pike and lost one monster fish that battled for almost 15 minutes that led to unhooked. Along with many catfish. I think that pike should be cooperative well. Since we can target them. Since we wasn't target them but still catch them! might be good sign to come this saturday! -
Yes, RIT have Bass Club. It was running since 2008. This was tourney that RIT host for RIT team only to see which one person will be qualify for college tourney in summer. I am that person who qualify to enter one of those tourney. I haven't decide which place that I wanted to fish at.

Hey guys, I fished in Lake Conesus for first time, I am using kayak to fishing. I caught couple bass and one smallmouth bass that around 18.5 incher. probably over 4 pounds. Anyway, back to your point at zach and Nitromusky, the water was very clear. I could see dropoff in north-end at those many buoys. Weeds was everywhere but only like less a foot or so. Not fully grown yet. I do believe that water haven't being affected by lot amount of raining that we got recently. I caught one big pike but lost him on kayak's side. I wasn't target pike at all but it was really nice one that I failed to landed it! See you guys out there at this Saturday! -
I curious how did you guys get ticket? I have no time to get them but I wonder if I can get it from through online or phone? Please let me know! p.s. Good luck for everyone who fish this tournament!

Where can I catch them? If you know the spot to catch them, please PM me. Preferred somewhere in Rochester if it is possible. I saw youtube that bunch of people catch them in Erie Canal but not sure where it is. This is same reason as Freshwater Drum. I really want to fishing after them.
