2011 PIKE OPENING DAY
Deaf Fisherman replied to Stinky Finger's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Yeah, or we can do something like this photo. This is just one of example that we can do this. This is Bass/pike Kayak tournament that took last fall. We was using identification card that director made so everyone will get it on the day of tournament. That way nobody will not know single look of card until that day come up. It is catch & release program. I took this on my cell phone and sent to director so director will measure it for us. Then tell us what our result of measure is. But I am highly preferred to have a measurement on the picture and take the picture on fish too. So we can have certainly measurement correctly. This is another reason why i placed second place on this kayak tournament. Another person was beat me by tiny centimeter or so. I am still doubting about it. However, if we made this happen. It would be blast time for everyone who come this event. Just a suggest. I thought that maybe someone like that idea. However, Button signs would work either way too. -
Yeah, thanks! But is that will being applied to fingerlakes from Lake O program? Also, which color is better suit for each trout? like as you just said, lakers - Anything kind of lures will work with bright colors. Last time, I heard that Pink and Orange colors will work the best for most of time in this spring. Is that true too?

I was curious from you guys, I have little proper equipments for trout program. I have two accudepth plus tipped with 10 pounds line along with various different colors of j-9 rapala lures. However, I don't have any of doctor flasher or flies on me. I wanted to buy few of doctor and flies. But which color is work better for trout? I probably will buy one or two green doctor with green flies. Have any advice on this? or just a suggest?

Question about Hemlock and Canadice
Deaf Fisherman replied to JCfish88's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Yes, you are right about that permit. no worries. I am one of those people who caught bunch of fishes on this lake. It was great if you found right spot to fish at. I have no electronics at all. Just fishing hut. But be careful since ice is melting edge of shore. It might be hard to get access to it. Once you got on the ice, it is basically safe. (I haven't went out since last week so it is possible change that fast) so try to check ice if it is safe to walk on before you start to wandering around. -
2011 PIKE OPENING DAY
Deaf Fisherman replied to Stinky Finger's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Big for this idea! I thought it will be great for everyone to get out there and able to enjoy to being on the water instead lay around do something else. It is just fun and have chance to meet new people and trades some knowledges/jokes.. Plus, it is catch/release game, not keeper. However, I think we should contain some kind of identify card or button to verify that picture is from today catch to give some competition. I am definitely up for that event. Since it is suppose to be fun event. Or maybe we can go one of those tournament like Capt. Larry just said on several above post on this section. -

Lucky, my roommate still have this. It was really fast. lol. I just asked my roommate and he said he still have it and sent to my phone. now, it is here. start drooling now! Anyway, it was nice to catch that size pike on ice fishing. It is still my biggest one so far. My second biggest one probably 30 or 31 incher Pike in Massachusetts. -

I have the picture but It is not kinda of catch release picture. Since I forget camera at home so I put pike into bucket and drive home. When I got home, I did snapped a picture of it. Then drive back to that lake to released it. Lucky, it was still alive because it was slapped my face when I tried to released it. lucky, he was swimming freely.. But in the end, i was happy to see that pike was in healthy shape when it was let it go. I am not sure if I still have that picture but I'll looking for it. Hopefully, I still have it. Since it was one of my roommate's phone that took picture of my fish. -
6,000 pounds of Striper Bass caught Illegally
Deaf Fisherman replied to Deaf Fisherman's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Yeah, but it is very wrong to wait that long. Scientists already said they was on brink of extinction soon at several years ago along with Bluefin Tuna and Atlantic Cod with overpopulation fishing. Now, they want to study about it. I think there is something up out there. I guess, I have to wait until someone found out about something about that situation. Sucks to waiting for that! -

I forget to mention one thing, I caught one 40 inch pike on small jigging Rapala (tiger color) in Conesus in January. I wasn't after them but it is really give great show on 4lbs line. -

This is major impact to everyone! I wonder how striper bass season will be at this summer at NY and Mass? Probably it is not good. They killed the future for our kids to have fun to able to catch something. Now, look like they have to work harder to able find one. I have went into several captain boats in Mass, They told me they was catching marlin or swordfish on the beach, they showed me the pictures. I cannot image how huge jealous that I am right now. But this is exactly why trawlers put millions of fishes into extinct. Now, Government wondered what wrong with fish that being extinct recently that they just did nothing about it? That's absurd! Government is definitely sucks! They need to set up more rules about culling the fishes. -

I know it is kinda of irony with this post from everyone on here. Since everyone named everything on spoons. Meanwhile my favorite lure for pike was little 3 1/2 or 4 inch chug bug popper (rattle and tiger color) and 4 inch white fluke. Its very effective for me. I caught tons of them when I was fishing behind my house along with several lakes at Massachusetts. But since it is "NY forum," I cannot say anything because I haven't caught single pike during open season except ice-fishing in which it was live bait. -
so big its insane to show the whole thing
Deaf Fisherman replied to slimyfish's topic in Ice fishing

Bloodshot - Where should I buy "House Autry" from? so I can start cooking smelts.
-
Oh yeah, it is beautiful natural scenery, it is hard to focus into fishing. I only went there three time so far. I havent moved to new place (new holes) on where I am fishing lately. Biting are hot right now but slow fishing. Alot of hit and miss on lakers. But on smelts fishing, oh boy, they are food machine! They cannot stop biting!
-
bloodshot/BlueDaksi - What's time do you think we should met up together for jigging the lakers? Any idea? Look forward to it!
-
slimyfish - Yeah, I am finally get hang of it on light pull up and reel it up. Its hard not to pull it hard.. after fishing couple of times, I think I'll be fine. Hopefully, this Saturday will determine the results. keep look my next post! p.s. i didnt use any kind of bobber or foams. I just like two hook rig on straight line. Its worked well for me.
