  2. The guy I fish with is old school also not as hard core as you tho . He carries a dump phone and gets a text or two from me lol . We be fishing and I will goggle something . When done he will ask who's on the other end giving the answer . Now I can tell him it's the Chinese and Russians. Lol Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Today smart phones are use constantly. Can't think of anyone putting a phone in a dry box in the boat . ( Not saying it's not a good ideal ) I would say talking on cell phone is the last thing it's used for . Between weather apps GPS apps texting getting on the Internet putting post on LOU . Everyone carries a phone , so if you are fishing with others there's back up phones . No need to put in box. Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. Port Bay is my favorite . I have a 22 foot saber and used the south and north launches with no problem at all .I sure the south ramp is flooded out . With the high water and on shore winds the road to the north launch gets rough in spots . The state dose fill it back in when wash out but can be a bit bumpy You best bet is to ask L&M here on LOU . 9. I would disconnect the lines and remove hosing and filter from boat . Then decide if it's worth saving or needs replacement . Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. I was straightening up the boat from the canandaigua lake Derby and after reading this post decided to check my safety gear. Pulled my water proof flare kit box out to check dates on flares . The expired date is October 2019 . So my question is, dose that mean I have to the end of the month or do they aspire on the 1st of the month? If they're good to the end of the month I'm good for the year as I put the boat up usually the second or third week of October. Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Congrats Bob way to hang in there. After catching only one lake trout by 11:00 am Sunday we decided to head in and beat the pleasure boaters. We got inside the inlet and there was other fishing vessels stacked up along the wall and the parking lot wagon train with pleasure boats.the north end ramp is busier then Mexico point in the fall LOC Derby... 17. Deans cove is state own 7$ to use . Can launch your boat there with no problem. I troll the east side for Lakers 70 to 130 fow . I see guys jigging around there also . Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. You said the arm is collapsing while you're turning left so you need to tighten the EZ steer arm up a tad .put your I/O lower unit down in the drive position and in the straight position set your kicker in the drive position . adjust the kicker so in straight position with the arm attached to the i/o lower unit. On the EZ steer arm there is two pins and they have screws on the end of them need to tweak each one a little bit. Don't over tighten the pins you still want the easy steer arm to be able to move. 19. Well today went better than ten days ago . Last time on the lake I wasted the controlls to the main . today I fished with a friend haven't seen since last fall. Boat controlls work ok and we boated 12 for 16 all lake trout . We ran Seth greens and 2 in line boards one was pulling mono with a keel weight with spoon the other was 300 foot of copper and spoon . The copper was the go to rod Seth green caught 1 fish a pice rest was copper rod . I ran down the fish hawk TD top was 57 degrees. down 70 was 44 degrees. That is were the marks are also did see some quality marks 10 to 20 down. It's definitely slower fishing than it was . To much rain probably. Going to get ready to fish canandaigua lake hang out with some friends and donate to camp good days next weekend . I say donate cause I'm sure sk8man will come up with a 20 lb brown to win . 20. Disappointing news . If the weather pattern don't change. It might not reopen . Over 500 hundred tornadoes and heavy rain keep coming up the middle of the country and dumping heavy rains in the Northeast. On top of water coming from lake Erie. I rather have low water in the fall than extensive high water in the spring... Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Nice boat been wanting the same machine for awhile now .. Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I believe that is for , if the carb was to flood and gas is going to over fill the carb the gas will get suck into the motor and not spill into the bilge and cause a fire. I would check with a marine mechanic . Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Congrats on the first place finish. Times 2 with hard knocks . He is probably right. Sounds like you took your boat to the ceremony you're there with a bunch of other fishermen that have bunch of money tied up in boats and fishing equipment. I wouldn't think somebody would take a buddy bearing off your trailer. Sent from my XT1609 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
