I put up a post last year with brand new panther kicker bracket . Mine broke in the same spot too Didn't lose the Kicker my fishing partner noticed it was broke and I tied it off with a Rope plus there was a safety cable on it. Panther sent me a new backing plate that I have not used cuz I did not trust it. Buddy made one out of quarter inch aluminum three-quarter inch oak problem solved.
