  1. it is the best i seen on the lake . just have watch out for the drug people steeling your boat stuff was post on here a member left his boat there and came back to no kicker and gear . i know that goes for every where but been a lot of kickers been stolen in the area . and that is not the marina fault either .
  2. nice job , how long did it take you from the public launch to the lake at idle speed .
  3. Warrens hook line & sinker 315 483-2183
  4. thanks Mike your flies were a steady pick of fish at time we had the 2 dipsy rods and a rig rod going at once .
  5. rod 1 is 12 ft between beads rod 2 is 15 ft between beads . 2 ft from weight to first bead . depending on conditions and speed depends on what lb weight i will use . most of the time 2 lb weights will do . you can run 5 leaders and up to 15 points . if i am fishing lake trout the bottom seems the best . that will work the water column bottom 65 ft to 75 ft up. the leaders are 12 ft long . i use a leader box to keep my leaders in (see above pic open and id pic is the leader box closed) if i am going to run cowbells and spin&glows i use a 3 way swivel rig and put weight and bells to that instead of the beads then skip the first bead and then 4 leaders of spoons . when marking fish threw the water column i count down the ft to the top leader . like i want the top leader at ft 30 down that be around 6 pass of the level wind on the reel . i think that answers your questions if you think of any more let me know .
  6. wire , release , snubber , ball . when summber breaks only loss ball...
  7. USS Fitzgerald my heart and prayers go out to the crew and the fallen and their families of the USS Fitzgerald .
  8. as i said the blacks i like for kings the finger lakes when using down riggers i use the pinch pad but can bend the rod down like i do with black releases , i will check the chamberlain also .
  9. i marked a lot of fish and bait around 50 to 60 down . i ran one of my rig rod high but could get any thing to go . so i ended up working the bottom up with rig rods . as the thermocline moves deeper i will pick LL and bows on the top leaders and lakers on the bottom leaders . what i should have done is put my cores out on boards . my buddy likes lakers for some reason. lol , i just keep looking for that hog of a laker . i wasn't keeping any fish to eat so did'.t care ..
  10. i take that kind of day any time , what lake and what were u catching ?
  11. it is plastic . a friend made me a pad out 1/4 aluminium plate and 1 3/4 oak and i had the carb adjusted on my tohatsu . we fished yesterday it ran so much better with a lot lses vibration . we are thinking now the vibration was a big reason it crack and rough water finish it off .
  12. another thing you can try is to use a walleye pinch pads off the weights . i use my blacks releases for the big pond .
  13. x 2 on the micros
  14. here is a pic where we were this is from last year same place you can see the outside of mounds is deeper water than when we cross over them is comes up to a 100 feet the back down with seth green rods i can work the bottom with ease
  15. Bob that big laker sounds like it was a blast . yes we were busy today leaders on leaders off lol a couple times we had three rods going with fish
  16. cayuga 6/17 went out of deans cove launch at 530 fished to 11 30 . we did 25 lake trout and lost another 5 . we fished structure mounds of the east side north of long point for the second week in a row now . seems to be holding lake trout there , 140 to 130 fow and when trolling over or around these mounds the water goes to 130 to 100 then back down to deeper water . we have been doing a number on them here . as usual seth green rods with mi stinger spoon and hybrid lures did well. the dipsy where out to 250 with iron duke flies, uv wild child and quality time flies, they took the bigger fish today. are biggest today was 9 . 1 or so . i trolled north and south and gps speed was 1.5 to 2.2 . good luck out there sunday . and have a good fathers day .
  17. i looked up transom saver . they make support arms for an outboard . then i found what is called a trailering clips for i/o that goes on the hydraulic arms . i never seem the used , can't hurt to look it up.
  18. no you don't if you got power steering i put a strap on my cause it is not power steering and it will swing around while towing .
  19. broken motor mounting pad i would like to give a shout to Chris Hansen from Marine Tech Products . they just replace a Panther motor mounting pad after i found it broke on the lake . he ask me a few questions one of them was do i take the kicker off when towing . my answer was no i don't it is electric start and has throttle controls . he told me not taking it off while towing a voids the warranty , but you just bought in the winter so we will replace it , and i was told that if happen again i will be on my own . this bracket is rated for 263 lbs and up to a 35 hp my tohatsu is a 8 hp and weights 110 lbs. i am not sure how i broke it, i think it was in rough water it was taking a beating on the way in on Cayuga and Seneca in the derby . i have taken steps to make sure it don't happen again and strap it up better when towing . in closing i would like to say it is nice to see a company go out of the way to keep their customers happy .
  20. i didn't think we can have alcohol on a boat in ny or an open container these days . i know over 0.08 is dwi car / boat . so if you stay under 0.08 is ok to drink alcohol.. i just don't bother with it any more one less thing to worry about , i wait till back at camp/ home where don't have to drive ..
  21. i also have a complete 3.7 165 hp it ran when took out of boat but been sitting for 5 years in my pole barn . kept it for a parts motor
  22. are you coming from Buffalo way ? if i was making a two hour drive to fish the finger lake it would not be Seneca lake . fishing there has been slow .i would contact Lakebound88 here on LOU. he is a charter Cap. on the lake and knows how and where to get the job done . i would go a little more east and fish Cayuga lake . read the fishing reports from there . it will give you a ideal where to start . good luck fishing the finger lakes .
  23. thinking out of the box , makes my fishing buddy look at me and say wtf is that and if it works i will see him try it on his boat then the ball busting starts lol
  24. that is why i like seth green rods for lakers . the 3 $ weight brakes off not the rigger from my boat . i rock the boat side to side and watch the rod tip and see the weight bounce bottom and make reel adjustments when needed . you can make a 3 way swivel rig with 1 1/2 lb weight and the bells and what ever u want run behind them and work the bottom . make sure the leader to the weight is less lb rated than the main line so the weight brakes away first .
  25. might be the new norm . costing big bucks to homes and business .
