the combat trolling get intense in the fall derby ,recreational fisher men or women get zero to slim respect on the water when it come to a charter boat .

took two of my buddies fishing on cayuga . they have had no luck catching fish this year at all. we set up on the west side and was marking fish but nothing like it has been . an hour went by and no hook ups , man you guys are bad luck i said . then it turn into non stop action . lakers at first some were big most were small. we got sick of lakers so headed to east side and crank up the speed to 2.8 and we got into the land locks put 6 nice size ones in the cooler even had some type of fish hit hard to brake off a 15 pound leader . buddy had drag turn up for got to reset it . they caught a lot of fish today and were happy guys . the fleas and weed pods were not a issue at all again used spoons on two seth green rods only .

deans cove , launch at 6:00 am after the bass guys had their start . those bass boat sure can do a hole shot . we motored over to aurora and set up. found fish in 100 ft range down 50 to 60 ft and took our first hit landed a brown . then the lakers started hitting 70 to 80 down in 100 to 150 ft . the wind started picking up so decided to head east . i pick my speed up to 3.0 from 2.0 and the silvers started hitting . i was hoping for a bow for the grand slam but it didn't happen we played with small lakers and silvers till 11;00 and pull the rods in front of deans. spoons that worked today was dirty white boy , purple gator . green jeans . frog .

as of last weekend the fleas are not that bad at all . i was out of deans cove and was using braid on my seth green rods . i think 25 lb mono would be fine to use .

i took a okuma 30 reel and put 40 lb big game mono on it around 50 ft or so and then filled the reel with AFW 30 lb wire . so do you guys think that is ok ? the line counter should work right , i think ?? i have a 5000ft spool of wire that is why i did it that way .

went to deans cove, ended up launching with the tail end of FLTA . 5 :45 we went to Aurora flats spent most of the morning there. most of the time we were the only boat around . got seth green rigs out and wham bow jumping for the sky . look over at the other rod another bow jumping again. land locks where next, all to short today for us . turn into a laker bite 12 lakers over the rail a few were 6 to 8 lbs rest around 4 lbs , we drop several lakers today, would not stay hook up . finish at 11:15 and be lined it back to beat the weigh in for the FLTA . the parking lot was full had to be a mess there when the group came in

83 / 200 or 50 / 200 will not cause interference with the fish hawk . what does interfere with the fish hawk is when a sonar is on chirp . when i am using my fish hawk i just use the 83 / 200 hz . when i use seth green rigs i use chirp and have the fish hawk off the sub troll can be use with any of above. using 83 hz or with the chirp i can track my seth green weights right to the bottom i only lose the wights when my speed is fast enough to take them out of the cone range .

deans cove , took my neighbor fishing this morning . newbie to trolling also a little afraid of being on the lake . we got to deans at 5:30 got launch and starting setting up in 70 fow . i got out my rig rods out , he looks at me and said what are we fishing for with those rods . i had a big smile . so i showed him how things go, we were in the fish right away .i help with the first fish doing leaders . after we finish with the first one i said its all you now . fishing was hot non stop for the first 3 hours . he did pretty good only threw 1 leader to the fish gods , not bad for a newbie . we called it a day around noon , the heat was kicking in time to go . he had me save a few lakers and a few silvers witch i clean them for him to take home . i had lots of fun watching him fumble with the rods and the fish and spending time chatting . i think he got the itch to go again , i am looking forward to it .
