$100 for the wire diver and $55 for the Penn I have a couple of spare combo's I am looking to sell. 1. Okuma convector 30d linecounter spooled with steel wire on a 9' 6" diawa accudepth with twili tip. I had this as a back up and think I put it out twice since I bought it in early August this year. $130 2. Penn 330 GTi on an older rod I used for copper one season. I removed the copper but the reel still has close to 300yds 50# power pro backing. $65 I would prefer pick up rather than shipping. I'm in Cannadaigua daily and Macedon several times a week. Thanks, Paul. 585-three 01- five 949

Very limited shore access. Fall, you could fish of Onanda park on the west side. Drops deep off the little fishing floating dock they have. 100+ fow is in easy casting distance and trout are somewhat attainable with a little patience. For pickeral (no pike) you could fish the pier in the later part of fall/early spring. Another spring option is the outlet. Stocked with browns and usually pretty good fishing early spring. There are pike in the outlet which runs through Shortsville.

Mike, That was a lot of boats for a Tuesday! Morning wasn't bad for us with a few up north on jigs and some average bows mid lake. The evening was not so good. 2 short grabs on jigs and lots of chasers but no takers. Threw the trolling gear out with less than an hour left and finally got them biting. I'm really looking forward to September!

mottman, I saw you out the other day. I have been out the last 4 days with moderate succes and not marking much either. We have been averaging 5 fish per trip but the last 3 trips produced quality. 11lb laker today, 8lb rainbow yesterday and 2 bows the two days previous both over 6. Jigged until dark on Friday and landed a 10+laker jigging but the fish that showed on the graph after dark was amazing. They are there just not feeding heavy yet.

Started out jigging the North end around 7am and the fish were pretty negative. Couple of good grabs but no fish in the boat. Moved down to the long point area and pretty much the same story. Lots of weeds in that area. Switched over to trolling around 9 on a south troll and picked up 4lb laker 85 over 200. Had a relatively slow pick from there with a couple of really nice bows on cores and dropped a real nice laker on a ff of the deep rigger. Letting a wire diver out it hit about 115 on the counter and started peeling pretty good with a nice hen Bow. Flees have diminished greatly but I imagine they will find there way back quickly with the upcoming warm weather.

Talked to the guys from FLCC at the dock on thursday and they said its a combination of several factors. The bacteria itself is naturally occurring but coupled with the heavy storms over a week ago and all the silt making it difficult for the fish to breath causes severe stress and the fish cant recover from the bacteria. This die off is nothing compared to last year. They are also looking into bait populations. Not just alewives but shiners etc..Les, when you noted the floating fish first the following 3 days seemed to be the peak. I was out last night and this morning and what a difference from last week. We hammered the lakers jigging Sunday night with 2 around ten pounds and the rest over 5. This morning the lakers weren't so agreeable so we ran a rainbow spread and hooked 5 releasing 3 in just over an hour. Looks like the lake is setting up on a summer pattern fast now as I marked a ton of bait up high over deep water with lots of big hooks in the 80-120 fow over 200. The water we were fishing in is still murky and no where near the usual color and clarity. Weed mats were pretty heavy center of the lake. I wonder what impact the winter had freezing the lake over? We are still catching lakers in 30 FOW and many of them have had a large fat build up in the belly cavity like a deer in late muzzleloader.

Canandaigua - Fishing slow - Fleas are starting
chuck527 replied to Trout Bum's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
We were targeting Browns Saturday morning in 50-60 fow and the amount of Lakers that were coming up to the rigger ball was impressive. We set a waypoint on the GPS and went back for an afternoon trip at 4pm and instantly got into them jigging. We ended with 7 in the boat ranging from 5-8lbs. They are definately still hugging the bottom in the shallow drop offs. We caught lakers as shallow as 28ft right on bottom. We have not run a wire since they closed the lake over Memorial Day weekend. -

no boats on canandaigua and honeoye lake
chuck527 replied to tandmbait's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Docks on the North End were above water this morning. Pending anymore strong storms I think Canandaigua will be down and fine for the Tournament next Saturday. I'm sure the big concern was the amount of boat traffic this weekend with the forecast for Sunday, Monday. -

Picked up a father and his 11 and 13 yr old kids right at seven am just south of Pelican pt marine. Started right away on a north troll that produced a nice smallie on a 6 color cor followed by a fair laker on a ff. Smallmouth hit a sutton 22. Backed it up with a 16 inch bow. Took a few more small bows and a nice bow On the same lure. Little slow mid morning but it did pick up at the end. [ Post made via Android ]
