  3. I have to keep mine at 55 or they dont wear at all in the middle... Have been running them at 55 for a few years now and i trailer all over the state with no issues Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Wow- cool story and pictures. nice to see some other guys' adventures even if they don't involve huge fish. Chad, was it you that fished the tourney at the cave last year? I remember seeing a report from last spring and was tough goin down there also. I love to take road trips and explore new waters almost as much as i love catchin big fish so it is cool to see guys posting reports outside of the local waters
  5. Nice job! I have a sister in WV and have been meaning to try the muskie fishin out that way. You may have just inspired me... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Reelguy (Chris) is the real deal. Sent him a few reels last friday... Some bait casters and a couple daiwa sealine line counters. They arrived back to me today all cleaned/lubed and look great...1 week turnaround! Just wanted to give this guy a plug... will be sending a few more reels your way later this season.. Thanks again Chris Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. The wolf fish pictured is indeed hoplias aimara (locals call it hymara). Curupira is a different fish and although their native ranges overlap, curupira looks a bit different and does not get as big. Not trying to be a smart a$$, i am just a fish geek and have kept several members of the hoplias genus as pets over the years. I will have to save my pennies and join you on one of these trips in the next couple of years Capt Larry. Looks to be the trip of a lifetime! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. So cool! I used to live near sanibel and have caught just about everything that swims around there... But never caught a lookdown. Very unique looking fish. Man do i miss grilled pompano! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Signed Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Whoa...that thing is a monster. Spent a week there last July and didn't even see a pike. I am not much of an ice fisherman but maybe i should rethink that...

  14. Spent a few hours in the harbor yesterday also- no action and nothing on the graph. Back into the river and went 3 for 4, biggest was just over 40". Man it was a nice day to be out on the water Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. I believe the early opener is for inland waters only- since they are supported by stocking and there is little to no natural reproduction. Maybe someone else will chime in that is more familiar with the proposals. Agreed that great lakes waters should remain 3rd sat in june to protect spawning fish- looks like the plan is to keep the season on great lakes the same Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Wow! Beautiful fish and great story Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  23. Nice- I believe the black spots are flukes (parasites) in their larval or cyst form. I have seen these quite a bit on smallmouths in the past. I think the flukes can only reach adulthood if the infected fish is consumed by a bird....but don't quote me on that. I am no biologist, just a fish nerd
  24. I have an Eagle Fishmark 320 i was gonna throw up on the classifieds. Suction cup transducer and takes either 8 D batteries or the small 12 volt alarm type batteries. Pm me if interested Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
