Question about the rules concerning the number of rods. Is it still going by 2 rods per angler and no more then 8 rods or is there going to be a change in this rule because of the law change to 3 rods per angler. Either way I am all signed up! Thank you

That really sucks. I had a bearing go on my trailer a week ago. I know your pain of coarse I was laughing when the tire passed me Lucky it happened on a back road near home. I don't know if there is a tractor supply close to you but they should have what you need. Good luck!

10' Eagle starfire Rods with a twillie tip have a great action and hold up very well to all sorts of abuse like otterboats and coolers sliding around in the boat smashing into them. oops. Shimano Talora rods Roller are nice but lots $ or even the normal eyelets with a twillie tip. I recommend either. They are all great rods.

Hot spoons this past weekend for me were Dreamweaver 42nd Dreamweaver Diehard- Mag and slim size Stinger Goby Stinger BlueDolphin- Mag and standard size

Cannons Single axis and Dual axis Rod Holders I think are the best on the market these days. I know a lot of guys use the bert rod holders as well. They are both durable and they are both ratcheting. Cannon rodholders are a one hand operation.

We ran 3 color, 5 color, 150' copper, 3 riggers spoons down 25, 60 and 90 down with sliders, 4 dipsys-spoons and flasher/fly at 140, 160, 200 and 270. We also and a flat line out for cohos. Sunday- Was very slow to start. Launched out of Wilson and we hooked up with decent king in 200fow but nothing for hrs after that. The wind picked up to give a little chop and it was game on. we picked up some good cohos and a lot of small steelies. Also the kings started to bite. We started to pack up for the day and the distress call was called over the radio! Has anyone heard any news on that? Anyways my deep wire parked at 270 that did not take anyfish fired and started to peel. Landed a 20lb king which ended the weekend on a bang. We had a great time.

I use 30# big game as well. Standard dipsy size I don't run a snubber but if for some reason I run a mag dipsy I will put a dreamweaver snubber on. From dipsy to to the fly should be about the length of your rod. You want to go long but not too long that you can't boat the fish. I run spoons off of a dipsy but never behind an sd. I think it would mess the action of the spoon up. The sd provides the action to the fly. [ Post made via iPhone ]

I would recommend using 50 lb power pro backing but you could buy another roll of wire for the price it cost. I strongly recommend buying another spool of wire. Torpedo 30# runs $33 for a spool of 1000'. It will last for years. The big game mono is the cheaper route and will work. Use an Albright knot to connect the 2 together. [ Post made via iPhone ]
