  1. I'm just a newbie but you don't mention what speed you like to run at. I've read flashers tend to be speed-tolerant and that some brands of spoons prefer different speed ranges. What's yours?
  2. Another popular work-around is to splice a section of 30# Big Game into your setup so that's what's in the water hitting the fleas. Search "Water fleas" for the details.
  3. Look up the March 2010 topic TOP SPIN DOCTOR \FLY COMBOS for a few more choices.
  4. I like it. Now she just needs to dump the boyfriend...
  5. that would be awfully handy on the picnic table. How much for kit vs. completed?
  6. I stopped fishing Lake Ontario in the late eighties and just started again with a buddy on his boat this spring. We fished the Salmon River (drift boat) for the first time last October, went out for spring browns with Legacy (see his 4/30 report) and we're booked again in August. We've even managed to catch a few ourselves using what we've learned here, from Capt Rob & from Jolly II (sorry about all the dumb questions, Chris). You're absolutely right; the fishing has been amazing so far. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out.
  7. we did well yesterday trolling east and then back in 160 feet of water, riggers @ 75 & 55 w fixed sliders. riggers, copper & dipsies all took a mix of fish with both spoons & flasher/flies. Hope it helps.
  8. I rode with Jolly II this morning (thanks, Chris) and we launched just ahead of you. Had an identical day but in the opposite direction. Great fishing today.
  9. Thanks for the report. Nice to see they're showing up here now - how deep did you find them?
  10. Very nice. Might have to break out my kayak this wekend and work my way around the weedline.
  11. Paraphrasing Stripes - "You got one heavily-armed recreational vehicle there, man."
  12. I'm in Theresa, NY a couple times a year, fishing Moon and Red Lake. It's nice up there but starting to get more crowded.
  13. "Wenches are very expensive but easily found". Preach.
  14. Very nice. I survived my non-fishing vacation and hope to get out this weekend.
  15. Nice fish. Lucky you weren't mounted by the CBP... boarded by the mounties... pillaged - you know what I mean.
  16. LOL - Yeah, and I'm jealous. We didn't make it to the Cape so no fishing for me this trip. Had to settle for sushi in Porter Square and some new gear from the Kittery Trading Post instead. Good luck with the internship.
