  1. This will be my first season dealing with them. I have an old pair of Penn 209s on downrigger poles and plan on spooling 20# mono with 150 ft of 30# big game and a flouro leader (based on what I've read here). Do you think the fleas will show up late this year because of the cold weather we've had?
  2. Looks like: http://www.fksportfishing.com/NiagaraProAm-Log.html
  3. You'll hit 200 feet of water about 2.5 miles off Sandy. It's between 5 and 6 miles off I-Bay or the Genesee.
  4. The old Brown Bag bookstore on Monroe Ave in Rochester recommended them to me years ago when I was searching for something. I guess most of the smaller booksellers list through it rather than have to update their own websites.
  5. If you don't mind it in a fair condition paperback, you can get it for $12.00 plus $4.50 shipping right now, shipped from a bookstore in Idaho. Go to www.abebooks.com and search by Title or Author. A good condition first edition is running $70 to $100.
  6. Thanks for the info, Matt. I have to start shopping for both soon.
  7. Looks like a good radio: http://www.marine-electronics-reviews.c ... 1000s.html. What antenna do you have on the boat?
  8. Thanks. I sent a text from out there and it went through but we need VHF. We trailer to Sandy too some weekends - 18ft tan Starcraft with a planer mast in front and a pair of downriggers on the back. We're learning, so if you see us do something stupid, it's not us...
  9. How far out is that, by the way? I fish on a buddy's boat & he doesn't have one - which makes me nervous. We were in 150 fow off the Genny last night & was surprised that put us about 4 miles offshore (according to my gps). We trolled passed a 7 ft tree trunk out there...
  10. Nice fish. We were out too, NW of the Genesee in 142 fow. Took a small coho on a Orange Tranny spoon and something ripped a treble clean off a white deep diver on the planer. Didn't run like a king but I was having drag issues - maybe a big rainbow?
  11. Nice area. I have friends around there (Athol, Chelmsford & Merrimack) but none of them fish. Father-in-law has a great fishing boat in Hingham... which will never see a fish. Unfortunate....
  12. Taking the kayak for a spin?
  13. Nice fish- congratulations.
  14. I've been reading the posts here on spoons lately and haven't seen Blue Fox mentioned. Most are Northern King (NK), DreamWeaver (DW) and Michigan Stinger (or Stingray for the larger size). Read through the "Favorite Spoons" thread on this site.
  15. Sesuit Harbor, off the beach, to the left of the jetty: http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&where1=Ha ... &encType=1
  16. Sweet. I've seen posts from kayak fishermen targeting stripers there - have you ever tried? I'm in East Dennis occasionally and have seen stripers cruising the flats for bait as the tide comes in. Haven't tried fishing for them yet.
  17. It's not marine grade but I picked up this one up recently @ W*Mart for $52.
  18. Speaking of which, sending you a PM, Rob.
  19. Just started fishing again last fall, actually. Haven't done much other than the occasional trib visit in the last twenty years.
  20. Off Shipbuilders as well. Take a look at the post "Shipbuilder Surprise"
  21. Hit a stickbait off a planer, 15 fow off Sandy a few weeks ago and released.
  22. Hey - nice fish. Tasty, too.
