    That's not far from the truth . The captain has to worry about licensing, registration, safety, preventative maintenance, repair, equipment costs, advertising... in addition to putting fish in the boat and providing a pleasant, memorable experience for the clients. I LOVE fishing - but I don't think I'd be a charter captain.

    I talked to the DEC officer briefly before we launched around 2pm. While I was there, he did a couple sweeps checking licenses for the guys fishing off of the docks
