  1. Ah - it was Jerry's place you were near, not yours. Memory's going...
  2. Murphy's Law kicks into play as well. It always the biggest mess when you're fighting the biggest fish...
  3. We run the Laurvick's as well. The early spring browns were hitting stickbaits off the boards but the bite shifted pretty rapidly to spoons and flasher/fly combos. You can run spoons of the boards too with a single splitshot ahead of it to help keep it down and the line clean.
  4. She's got a big grin on her face. If Henrietta's the easiest for you, try Dick's for a Ranger Big Game landing net with an octogonal handle that extends to 8'. Should be about $60. If you can shop near where you fish, Rob's right - Narby's or Captain's Cove will have anything you need.
  5. Got stuck out of town for the holiday but wishin' I was fishin'!
  6. Here's examples of the two I like to use: http://www.gloutdoors.com/elbertacliperfixedslider.aspx http://www.roemerrelease.com/Roemer%20Liberator%20Description.htm
  7. That's kind of a sore point, discussed here previously. Technically, the Coast Guard and/or county will only tow if you are in eminent danger or you present a danger to other boaters/shipping. Towboat US is in business to assist the rest. In many places, that's it for choices unless you can get a tow from a fellow boater. Here, the county and CG will generally assist whenever asked - but that cuts directly into the business of the local TowBoat US franchise owner (who I think I've seen on LOU). I see both sides but it's an uneasy truce...
  8. We've run that deep with manual Cannons. That's a lot of crankin'...

  10. Right there with you. Gettin' checked for new ones on Friday, actually.
  11. Yep. Mine's 6 foot with a 3 foot extension and that's about perfect.
  12. Hey, Mike! I always think of those old frontier photos, guys sitting there with their rifle, glaring at the camera...
