  1. If you're a book guy, I like these: http://bluehorizonsportfishing.net/books-videos/books-videos/books-dvds
  2. Lol - did you ever think you'd see chicken wings selling at $10.99 for ten?

  4. Both the Torpedo 7 strand and the 19 strand are listed as .015 in diameter but the 19 strand has a higher breaking strength (as tested here: ) Their website just says that it's rounder than 7 strand. You could send "MATHEW" a PM and ask. He's the owner of Torpedo Divers...
  5. We got lucky yesterday morning. Forecast for 8am @ IBay was 15 mph and we got 2mph instead.
  6. Pretty low. We stayed to the right coming back in on.Friday and still ran our prop through the mud near the breakwall.
  7. If i remember correctly, as we passed under the east side of the 104 bridge on a south troll, we picked up a layer of fish around 40 down and dropped our riggers to that depth, running spoons 75 feet back. We'd get a hit every time we looped west to come back up the middle, right in front of bay village.
  8. I know what you mean - I didn't buy anything the day I was looking at spoons either. The only places I've spent money this season are LOTSA, torpedo weights from Troutman and every tackle shop I enter. Don't tell my wife...
  9. I was at Gander in Henrietta last week and they had a table just inside the entrance, to the left, with a pile of the big bulk filler spools of Trilene XT - heavily discounted. Don't use it myself but might be worth a look...
  10. I posted this report last year, same weekend: http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/index.php/topic/28497-forever-young-i-bay-4-7-report/?hl=mortigan#entry174319
  11. Personally, I've only had issues with a couple sailboats over the few seasons I've been trolling. We usually steer clear of the trolling pack anyway but in spring, everyone's sharing the shallow water...
  12. I noticed tonight that Walmart online is carrying an Okuma Convector 30 for $55 and an 8'6" Classic Pro GLT for $30 with free shipping to your local store. That's a GREAT price if you're looking to add a few sets for wire or downrigger use... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Okuma-Classic-Pro-GLT-8-6-Trolling-Rod/19336173 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Okuma-Convector-Linecounter-30-Reel/9721461
  13. Fished for a few hours out of Sandy Creek yesterday, went 4 for 6 on small browns. NW winds pushed slightly warmer water in tight & mvp were the black & gold sticks off the planers. Cold morning with building wind.
  14. I think I saw someone mention recently that non-residents can buy a season pass of some sort...
  15. Ontario, NY - Lake Rd, near Furnace. http://binged.it/16uirNF
  16. I bought the salmon net last season and it's a great product. Thanks Captain Larry!
  17. I met the guy that had a big one wash up on his section of Ontario beach last season. He was hanging out at the Sandy Creek launch, showing people a copy of the D&C article and photo.
  18. From Friday: http://heraldbulletin.com/breakingnews/x1319120049/Low-levels-in-Great-Lakes-is-bad-news-for-shippers
  19. Chomping at the bit. Can't wait!
  20. You don't have to troll. You can jig at depth or cast in warmer creek runoff - but usually trolling will produce better here.
