    I know many of the guys fishing from the west side of the lake change their stickbait hooks at will, removing the front treble completely and putting a larger one on the rear. They want them to run higher in the spring.

    I run 107mm Deeper Divers. Precision Trolling says I'll get about 62 ft on a 1 setting or about 58 ft on a three setting, both with 200 ft of wire out. I'm surprised there's not more of a spread between the two. For a standard ring #1 Dipsy, it lists I'll get about 74 ft on a 1 setting or about 62 ft on a three setting, both with 200 ft of wire out. The only way you'll know for sure is to run your gear out until you bounce it off the bottom, assuming you know how many feet of water you're over. You could also connect a FishHawk TD, run the dipsey out 200ft, bring it back in and check the TD for the depth.

    You got it. I've seen refurbished tablets as cheap as $50 - it's really going to come down to how much the probes cost and how well it all works. Interested to see....

    We run a 5hp kicker on a 18ft aluminum and although it's fine in flat to 2ft water, I wouldn't want to trust my life to it in anything more. Go bigger, just in case.

    I use the 30lb big game as well. I don't use a snubber so that mono is my shock absorber - I was taught to run it through your fingers after each fish and switch it out if it gets nicked or stretched.

    The first charter I ever went on was out of Sandy Creek (Hamlin) on April 6th a few years ago. We didn't go deeper than 20 feet at any point but pulled in a bit of everything: one atlantic, one smallmouth and a mix of browns, steelhead, lakers, cohoe and smaller kings, boating 40 plus in six hours. Sometimes, they're just there. I will say that our captain warned us not to take that kind of day for granted - we haven't seen one that good since.

    Listing your TN in your posting is a bad idea since it's visible on the web and can be grabbed by programs designed to do just that. Choosing to provide your number on a PM doesn't have that concern, but it's still a judgement call. I've seen VERY few issues on this site but it's still a good idea to check out who you're dealing with. Look at how long they've been a member and search on their user name to make sure there haven't been any issues before you send payment.

    My first as well and it was great. I enjoyed the seminar and hope to make the trip out for part two in March. Great seeing the few fellow fisherman I already know, introducing myself to the ones I've only spoken to online and making a few new acquaintances too. Thanks, guys!
